This seems like a good time for this topic. Most of you know I’m pretty well grounded in reality, and logic but this question has come up on some other threads. So please post any personal experiences you may have had–if you have pictures even better; or pictures of a dead alien you have scragged would be really appreciated.
I guess I will start the ball rolling. I was in law school 1987-1990 in Alabama. My friends and I would blow off a little steam by going to a old strip mine that was being re-planted and we would camp and drink and shoot guns. In 1988 I was out there alone at the camp site. (If you must know the exact location it is along Keenes Mill road in southwest Tuscaloosa County. The mined area covered thousands of acres and the Hurricane creek ran through it.
I crashed for the night under a lean to. About 2 am I woke up because there was a bright light. I thought at first it must be the moon but it was a moonless night. I got out of the lean to and about 500 yards away on the crest of a ravine was a large, cigar shaped glowing object just hovering about tree top level.
There was a mining truck trail leading off in that direction. Since I was out there during the day to “plink” I had an array of firearms with me. It seemed a prudent precaution to arm myself with everything I had. I really had a hard time believing what I was seeing–I was more amazed and curious than scared at that point. I took off down the trail and the object was hovering directly over what was called Ruhama Church Branch of the Hurricane Creek. I got to within 50 yards. There were no exterior lights or openings and the object glowed. It was about the size of three train rail cars. Just sitting there. I looked at it for what seemed a long time.
Now, I’m not exactly proud of what I did next but–give me a break I was a young guy, and young guys do these things. (And I’m German–with a firearm) I thought about it for a minute–it just sitting there (no sound emitted) and me standing there with an AR-15 Carbine, two 30 round clips and some other guns. I yelled as loud as I could: “Welcome to Earth Mother-f~~~ers” and opened up on it. I mean how could I miss, huge target, close range. And I didn’t miss. For the next minute or so I was yelling other s~~~—and blasting away. I could hear the rounds “tinking” off metal…so i was hitting it, and wishing I had my old M60 from my army days.
When I ran out of ammo I remember I became oddly euphoric and burst out laughing for some damn reason. It just sat there–hovering. I pulled my next gun out–S&W 19 combat masterpiece and drilled it will six .357 mags. I didn’t have any more ammo for that and pulled out my last gun, Government .45 and emptied three clips.
The object never moved, never reacted. Stood there for a few minutes more with the three empty guns and a lot of brass. The euphoria gave way to fear. The fact it didn’t do anything scared me more than if it had. I took off running back down the road—so my back was to it. When I reached the intersection of the trail that would take me back to the campsite I looked back—gone. Where and how it went I can’t say. There was no trace so it must have moved with incredible speed. It was only out of sight for 2-3 minutes.
So there you have it. That is my one and only UFO tale. You are free to believe or think I’m just a drunk full of s~~~. I don’t give a f~~~. (there is a second strange event that occurred in the same location a year later but I will relate that some other time.) Those of you questioning the efficacy of firing at a UFO–I can only say: they were the ones creeping around the middle of no where Alabama in the middle of the night—I say they were up to mischief of some kind.
