Did this one some time ago to test the idea, I wish I could work my lathe at this speed all the time. The part being made was a brass adjuster screw for a motorbike to replace a rusty mild steel part.

I am sporadically preparing some timelapse videos, mostly lanscapes, so having a tripod is extremely useful. And the results more often than not are truly breathtaking.

And it is easy to do – some generic Android releases since I think 5.X.X have it as one of the settings for the camera, there are Andoid apps for it, and if anyone have an incline on Android programming, using a hardware to capture pictures and encode it to h264 is not really a rocket science.

In recent years I’ve also played with this type of photography in a somewhat almost semi professional way (ie. GoPro on a tripod or GoPro mounted on an analog modified mechanical kitchen countdown clock for proper time lapse panning shots; works miraculously well…).
