‘I’m not for impeachment,’ Pelosi says, potentially roiling fellow Democrats

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in an interview that she opposes moving to impeach President Trump even though she believes he is “unfit” for office — her first definitive statement on the subject and one that stands to alienate members of her own Democratic Party who are intent on ousting the president.

“I’m not for impeachment,” she said in a March 6 interview conducted for a future issue of The Washington Post Magazine.

“This is news,” she added. “I haven’t said this to any press person before. But since you asked, and I’ve been thinking about this, impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it.”

The political optics on this are horrible.

For over two years the democrat leadership and their media allies pushed their supporters into a frenzy of “impeach Trump”. “Impeach Trump” was the sole unifying democrat platform for the 2018 midterm elections. Now, on the rumored eve of Mueller’s report Pelosi says “it is not worth doing so”.

This is an example of being politically tone-deaf.

It may seem tone deaf of Pelosi, but I think she believes they can slow Trump and his goals down more with an investigation that goes on forever, instead of putting everything on an climactic battle they may lose.

3rd world countries do this quite a bit (when there is not a bloody coup)… constant accusations of corruption, etc to undermine and the thing is in 3rd world countries there really is that much corruption so you are not sure if they are guilty or not, or if they are ALL guilty including the accusers. LOL.

The only reason Mueller’s witchhunt has gone smoothly is he has carefully targeted those whom have some faith in the system of government due to them making money through that system.

But, the wider net for the witchhunt the more likely someone will say “no” to having their life destroyed.

There could be another armed stand-off like what happened at the Bundy Ranch, where the feds faced an group of armed U.S. citizens and the feds were forced to backed off.

It’s purely a political play. She’s knows Mueller doesn’t have the ammo she needs to make it happen. If she had left the idea of impeachment out there, then the Mueller report is going to be big news that everyone pays attention to. It won’t be good. By saying impeachment is off the table, then the Mueller report is made mostly irrelevant, since on action is really planned on it. The media is going to downplay and keep it as quite as possible. Meanwhile the public will still hate trouble and believe that he’s going to go to jail one day, which is the best the left can hope for at this point.

And this plan has been working in one form or another. The accuse Trump and Trump supporters of something, screaming it loud so it never leaves your brain. When it turns out that it’s false, they keep it quite and downplay as much as possible, never giving it a chance to undo the emotional hate you felt.

It’s really the best kind of propaganda you can get while still giving any kind of semblance of a fair and neutral media.

Along with downplaying as much as possible, move on to the next thing to accuse Trump of, and scream it loud so it never leaves your brain. Rinse and repeat. Remember what a big deal it was when Trump lied about the size of the audience at his inauguration? Or when he pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord?

People don’t even remember why they hate Trump anymore. And they don’t care to seriously evaluate if a decision was correct or not.

It amazes me that people still believe that our current economy is the result of Obama’s actions, not from reduction in taxes and deregulation. That’s can’t tell you what Obama did, just that it couldn’t possibly be anything Trump has done.
