So apparently the 500 internal server error bug still hasn’t been fixed. I had a longer reply, but it keeps being rejected.

Basically this is not progress. This is not a win for men. This is just an attempt to void men’s argument to entitled women about them not having any responsibilities for national service. They know there won’t be another draft. They know women will just get pregnant for a deferment when drafted. This decision is worthless.

And it’s the wrong metric, regardless. Deeds, not words, ladies. When the war cemeteries are half full of the corpses of dead conscripted women, only then will women have earned the right to speak of equality.

The one thing Bush 43 did right as not to start a military draft. Not doing this showed that most of the previous anti-war movement was over a military draft and no overseas military actions.

Also, if you read the fine print of some of Patriot Act and other such laws, there are military drafts on the books for everyone to be forced in the military to do the jobs they were doing, for a fraction of their previous pay, while doing their jobs in dangerous places.

Such laws were design as the first steps to fascist take over and federalization of all jobs to where the government ran everything, but the profits went the elitists, while the common people became slaves to the state.

Obama even try to push laws that all U.S. citizens would be drafted into “civil service” for two years to work for government.

Everything was set up to turn the U.S. to do this, with Hillary being Queen Dictator, then President Trump was elected and the whole s~~~show went sideways.

I have heard vets like TFM and others describe how when deployment to combat zones happens, the ones already in the forces all get pregnant as quickly as f~~~ (literally) to avoid danger.

As a student of history, I noticed a correlation between women’s enthusiasm for war and risk.

18th-19th c. Women very keen on war. Wars usually in foreign lands, no risk to them.

20th c. 1st World War. Women initially wildly keen. First air raids mean that war is now potentially on their doorstep. Women’s enthusiasm noticeably diminishes.

20th c. Interregnum. Air raids and gas attacks on home front now understood to be very likely. High Risk of female casualties. Serious peace movement in which women take a significant role.

20th c. 2nd World War. Women experience massive aerial bombing. Very High Risk. Ends with first use of nuclear weapon.

20th c. Cold War. Should war break out nuclear destruction of all cities becomes certain. Women hysterical, form huge anti-war movement.

I’m betting this will go through, as it will help women appear that they are equal, but will pretty much have zero effect on getting women to involuntarily be soldiers. Besides the fact that a draft is unlikely to happen in our lifetime, the need for combat troops is reducing all the time. Add to that that most women are unfit to serve, and can get out of it simply by getting pregnant. I believe you can also opt to be a conscientious objector to. And the military isn’t that keen on having women soldiers who want to serve, much less women who don’t.

But will we ever really have a draft again, as long as we still have the current government? Would we ever have a draft again for a war on foreign soil? If the US is invaded, will we not have enough men willing to sign up? Would a full scale invasion be enough justification to just nuke the enemy?

I have a family member thru marriage who pulled that s~~~ when we went into Iraq.

I think if a woman is drafted she should be ordered to be on birth control for duration.

I don’t know why anyone would be worried about registering for the draft anyway? They haven’t drafted anyone since Vietnam.

Speaking of Vietnam War drafting; my dad came SUPER close to having to serve in that war in 1974 when he graduated high school. He told me that if they kept the draft going for another month, he would of had to serve for sure, because he had a low number (53). It’s a good thing he just got out of it in the nick of time, otherwise, I would highly not of been born or he would of came home messed up if he survived.
