This video is a little dated now, but it shows a lot about people’s unthinking biases and assumptions. This dude is trolling university students with facts (gasp!) about who actually contributes to society and who doesn’t. I only have ten fingers so I lost count of the amount of minds blown. Good stuff.

    The answer, is no.

In America half the people don’t pay taxes at all. Zero. That’s why we’re in this mess. What’s kind of sad is most people don’t know how taxes are supposed to work. When half the people paying taxes are supporting the other half that don’t it will eventually end very badly.

10% TOTAL “taxation” should be enough, period.
The irony in a lot of the commentary about taxes, is that the numbers touted are only the “Income Tax” paid. The additional taxation is not included and is deducted before the provincial/state and federal tax is.
    I.e
    Healthcare premiums
    State/Federal mandated pension deductions
    Unemployment/Employment insurance deductions
    etc etc.
My nominal personal income tax rate is 28% before additional taxation, after which it is 30%. (under $50k annual income)
The only people complaining about not enough taxes being paid are the ones NOT paying taxes.

There was a time in my life when I gave a fuck. Now you have to pay ME for it

    Hypocrisy !!! Just that !!!
Leftists are just a big bunch of hypocrites ! Is easy for them to praise socialism, because they never felt in their skin how feels to live in a socialist country, they blame white man for everything, but they don’t realize that those white men helped to build the America that they live in.

They are just like women, they want all perks, all privileges, want to do everything, but they don’t want to face the consequences or the downsides of their choices. Just like children, exactly like them.

S~~~ !!!!! I thought that this bulls~~~ only happened in socialist thirdworld countries like Brazil !
This s~~~ is really f~~~ed up, I’m not pro violence, but someone is paying to give them free money, and this person is you !
This is the best way for leftists to get votes, when comes to the elections they just need to say “If you vote against us, those guys will cut your wellfare !”, and that is it, those parasites need blood to suck, the government give them your blood.

    1. Hawaii: $19.88 per hour difference
    Total welfare benefits package: $49,175
    Pre-tax wage equivalent: $60,590
    Hourly wage equivalent: $29.13
State hourly minimum wage for 2017: $9.25

he hourly equivalent is comparable to the national median salary of an electrical engineering technician.

So study a lot of math, go to college, spend a lot of money on a degree to become an engineer, study far more after college, because we all know that for engineers the college is just the beginning, work you ass off, have A LOT of responsibilities and anything wrong is your ass being fired, go get the same payout as a fat-lazy-single-mother who is good for nothing and doesn’t do a single s~~~ all day long ?

Sorry society, you failed, Darwin was wrong, isn’t the fittest who survive, is the one that find a way to become a parasite. This is a really good reason to not pay taxes, don’t give a single dime of you hard earned money to these parasites ! Think about all the extra hours that you worked, think about how hard you studied brothers, and the government take a good portion of that to give to lazy c~~~s just because “vaginas can vote too”.

Socialism is like vampirism. When the socialists take nearly all the wealth from the group of people those people rise up to demand the wealth stolen from them.

Yes, you are describing my life perfectly well. Only one more thing to add.

After a long stressful day at work (and struggling with a painful disease) I come home to find the Welfare Queens have sent their little bastards over to kick my front door in. Rob my house and steal the most petty s~~~ you can imagine. They broke two oscilloscopes and one power supply (smashed on the concrete floor) and tipped over my two huge drawers of SMD resistors and capacitors all over the floor!!!

Welcome to my Life here in good ole U$A.

I pay taxes so that lazy criminals don’t have to work. Then they rob me anyways. If they can’t steal it, they just break it. Thats what I get for working hard and being honest.

Welfare Pays Higher than Minimum Wage

If the current economic system is such, that welfare is what you need to make in order to make due in life, and survive, what does it say if paying jobs pay less than welfare? Those who advocate for welfare also advocate that there be a minimum wage. They have jobs in Mexico where individuals bag groceries for tips only. Maybe western societies can have these. People could just make a living picking up cans off the side of the road. It is an option available. There is also the case of cleaning windshields. It is so hard to find anyone who wants this, that individuals doing it, do it despite not being asked.

Retail is dying off now, as they are closing. Malls are also becoming a thing of a past. You are looking now that delivery jobs being replace by drones.

And the only reason why you pay taxes now, isn’t to prevent anything, nor is it that you even care about humanity. You do it because you are driven by inner guilt, and also fear of the system. You feel things need to be different, no matter how much things going on don’t change and don’t care. You are personally getting screwed by the system.

I face reality, of despite having a Masters degree in IT, I am stuck doing call center work. I am making a decision now of whether or not I want to try to improve the job situation by a ton of study, and certifications, out of my own pocket, to try to land something at 50. Or, I can try to live below my means now, and maybe try to own something that produces money.

The entire system sucks. It is arguably worse in the USA than elsewhere, unless you are well off. But, if you keep working a job that causes you a lot of pain, you can log on here and whine about things, or find something else. Do something else? Those kids get money because of collective guilt over not wanting kids to be without. Even if you don’t have kids, that is the norm.

It would be nice if other solutions besides tax cuts were proposed. The GOP way is to cut people’s taxes. You can’t end up cutting taxes on the upper end, unless you cut it for everyone, because no one cares that someone better off than you gets a break, and you don’t. So, they cut taxes for everyone. End result now is over 45% don’t pay any federal taxes. They do pay other taxes. Actually, with the Earned Income Tax Credit, individuals actually get a version of the Milton Friedman negative income tax. They get back more than they paid in, by means of tax breaks paid out.

We are in a mess partly also due to globalization, and a decline in the Middle Class. You either get on the right side, and gain more, or you don’t do this. If you can have globally demanded skills and assets, you have a market everywhere. If you don’t, it is a race to the bottom.

Fairness = I got mine. Unfairness = I failed to. The want for “justice” is a call to rig the rules in one own’s favor.
