I have 9 requests for interviews for various entry level hourly jobs

Not great, but it pays the rent and the CS. Woot!

Great news! You can afford to be a little picky. “Is that your best offer? I’ve got 8 other positions lined up . . .”

Good luck, hope it works out. The road to Damascus isn’t a smooth one, but one full of potholes, highwaymen and obstacles. And a fair few arseholes thrown in.

Once had an interview for what they later called an “entry level” position. So I asked them why they expected anyone with many years of experience for an “entry level” position at all. An entry level position requires no resume at all. Right?

That question was met with an uncomfortable giggle.

@may72020 A good question to ask yourself is “how much would I charge to have someone totally waste one hour of my time?” — if you were just paid to stand there and do nothing. Assuming no education or entertainment value, benefit, or growth. Just to stand there and accomplish a big fat zero. What would you charge?

(don’t answer out loud, because the question is the point)

It’s a great question, because when we examine it, we realize how much we seriously undercut ourselves for work. But where does this come from?

Let’s say my answer is an average of $100/HR – because that’s pretty good coin to do nothing. Right? I would therefore be placing a value of my life’s work at roughly $9 Million over 45 years.

Now I am forced to ask myself if I would be willing to “sell” my life for that???

One of the greatest tricks ever pulled on men is to be conditioned to value ourselves at so little ( in a general sense ). The forces that work against us are phenomenal.

Would wish you the very best of luck…

Thanks for all the input guys

    Interview on Tuesday morning.

From what the manager told me, the salary is ok, it meets my needs and will keep me out of court. They have a 3 year management track. Ok, fits my time frame.

    We’ll see what happens
