Anyone remember the old style McDonaldland play places? With the electric carousels, hamburger jail tower and all that. I do.

No McDonald’s or Burger King where I live outside Chicago have play areas anymore. And any restaurant that had one, are closed forever. Obviously some bitchy mother complained about the play areas being too “unsafe” and ruined it for kids everywhere. You know these kids today don’t have the same kind of childhood we had in the 80s and 90s. Everything has to be over protected, and that makes it boring.

It’s the same thing with cereal commercials. I bet women (mothers) complained about it targeting kids and they get fat and unhealthy and now you can’t hear catch phrases like: “cahoooookie crisp” “gotta have my Pops” and “Silly rabbit Trix are for kids.”

So yeah the reason why we don’t have play areas at fast food for the kids, and good things on TV is because mothers bitched them away, and those good things only exist in our memories. Thanks women for destroying good and memorable things we once enjoyed!

Speaking of McDonald’s commercials from the past: I remember these 2 McDonald’s music video ads:

    McDLT:

    Jason Alexander:

I remember these commericals when they were airing back when I was VERY young.

The last time I saw one of those play places was around 2001/2002. It was gone in it’s entirety no later than 2002 and replaced with video games. That’s also since gone and is now replaced by a plastic tube structure.

It’s kind of like how new hotels don’t have deep pools anymore because idiots drowned in them and made them a liability. Now all we have is shallow pools and although I still use them when I can, they are not nearly as fun as the former.
