The wisdom of the old men as a young guy used to amaze me.
The life experience taught them what I didn’t know yet. .
They never shared all of it at once, they seemed to drop sentences here and there that would really make you think.
Like the good old guy who told me ” kid,if you want to kill someone, kill them with kindness. .if you want to HIT em, HIT em with a prayer “..
    .
I would really appreciate if you guys have any wisdom from the older guys to share!
    Thanks!

My experience with old guys, either they’re capable and you can learn a lot of them, or they’re incapable and get in your way. I’ve met both kinds, mostly the capable ones.

One of my college instructors taught me a lesson I’ll never forget: don’t hate someone, even if they did unfavorable things to you. The best thing to do is forgive, because nothing good will come out of hate.

I try my best to follow his words, but alas, when I meet a dumbass c~~~, I waver a bit on his advice. I hope he’s doing well, despite being married…

My grandfather was a respected man (very respected) he was one to never tolerate impropriety, My uncles got their deserving asses handed to them over issues of the slightest disrespect to neighbors, property, and each other, he was the pillar of his family and raised them during the great depression, he was a good man that helped his neighbors that were suffering too, he taught my mom to serve the family and to give not take.

He planted those seeds in me also. Honor, and honesty were the main things he demanded, he also gave us the respect he demanded, it wasn’t a one way street.

On the other side of the family was my grandmother that taught us perfect table manners from the Victorian circa. She would take us out in public, 3 boys dressed in suites to a restaurant and I can remember her getting complements on how well we were behaved, she trained us like actors playing a scene in a play, we actually liked playing the part.

Hey hitman, we use to take the ferry to Staten Island, I can remember Grand Central and always riding on a train. She never drove, she was true Victorian train generation. Back over on my grandfather’s side, my Grandmother road an Indian Chief.

MY great grandfather was a master stone mason and much of his work is in National landmark buildings in the NY Metro area. He came here from Ireland in the 1800s’ with nothing to his name, he owned a s~~~load of land in NJ. He lost it all but I never asked how. Must have been a woman.

There’s a good joke about a chick who hides as a stowaway on the Staten Island ferry. .
Trades blowjobs for coffee and a roll every morning to a guy who commutes ..

Things my dad said to me:

“All judgment below evil is petty”

“Never assault a mans religion, it may be his last hope and you will never have the right to take away someones hope”

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.

Don’t hesitate, try it. Regrets are a terrible weight to carry in your older years.

I was never told this, but wish I had been.

No longer can we walk away, we must run. Remove the motive power.
