She’ll marry a guy with money who will pay off her debts (if she doesn’t continue to accumulate it), and then when that’s over, move on. Women are scammers!
In the past, women got married, THEN spent more money than they have. Now, with student loan debt, they acquire this massive debt BEFORE marriage. You can’t hide that poison pill. Men are fools, no doubt, but it’s not too hard to see that a woman who has been out of college for 8 years with massive student debt, CC debt, and a kid is going to run you into the ground.
As for student loan debt itself, I would reduce the interest rate where it doesn’t hurt the lender too much. I’d also put a freeze on the credit of those with debts so that it’s impossible for them to accrue additional debt till student loan debt is paid off.
Most importantly, student loans should pretty much disappear. They are unlike most loans in that there really is no collateral. If you default on your house or car note, the bank can take away your car. If you default on your student loan, they can’t take away your knowledge. IMO, if you’re going to have student loans, then they must be sponsored by a corporation and you must be required to work their under contract for a certain length of time. Know different than if you get money for college through the Armed Forces. This won’t be popular, as it’s basically indentured servitude, and will be labeled slavery, but is there a better way.
That’s not to say a person can’t put up something else as collateral. I house will do, but most students don’t have any assets to work with.
BTW, I do think that this plan would also bring down the cost of college. Like medical costs, part of the reason it’s so high is that consumers don’t have a good sense of the cost, and therefore cannot make wise decisions in these areas. When the costs mean something to them, they will make better decisions about what the education is worth, how best to utilize their education, consider other career options, and be pushed to generally make better decision with their lives. It also will mean that virtually every one other 18 will actually be an adult, forced to make real adult decisions about their lives, their political choices, and the life and culture they want to live in…no more insulation from reality.

That would actually accomplish something…it would be protecting people from making poor choices and incentivizing paying their student loans off.

It already exists to an extent, even outside of the military option, as a lot of companies offer tuition reimbursement. The thing is college for a lot of people means go live on campus somewhere and party a lot, so the idea of maybe working at Home Depot or something full time right out of high school for 6-8 years while taking advantage of their tuition reimbursement program and commuting to classes as a part time student is a no go.
Its not that options don’t exist right now, its just most people want to take the easy path through their college years and have fun, then complain when the results aren’t the same as someone who chose a more difficult path.

I think a large part of this is a massive failure of our K-12 education system. Apparently a lot of people graduate high school and don’t even understand how interest on a loan works. High school counselors should be sitting down punching numbers into a loan calculator with you showing you if you go to school here for 4 years, here is what your payment will like like when you graduate. If you commute you can save this much…here is how much cheaper your loan payment will be. If you plan on getting into this career path…here is a salary range you’ll probably fall in, etc. Instead all my counselors acted like just getting any degree = $$$$$ and tried to brainwash me that I needed to go live on campus somewhere and they seemed disappointed when I told them I planned on attending the local community college.
I just find it hard to believe that any kid who has had a part time job in high school doesn’t understand the value of a dollar. I know when I worked all year at my part time job I had at 16 and made less than 10k…then saw the price tag to live on campus at a state university was going to be about 25k a year, it was just like yeah no thanks, no worth it. Even at that age, how ignorant do you have to be to not understand what you are doing borrowing 5 figures a year for multiple years and not expecting it to have any impact on your life when you have to pay it back.

Guaranteed this would work…just garnish 50% of what every college grad makes over the federal poverty line until their loans are paid and the amount of people behind on their loans would plummet. With a lot of people its not that they don’t make enough to pay their loans back, its that they don’t want to prioritize it because there are more fun things to spend money on.

Im sick of being F%^&ed in life, paperfu.cked legally, imprisoned and labelled a felon for life (for being drunk when I was 22 and “evaded the police”)… for unauthorized absence and smoking weed after I CAME BACK FROM A WAR in Fallujah..receiving an Other than Honorable discharge, losing my right to the GI Bill, losing my right to vote or buy a weapon, losing my right to gainful employment in feilds I would do well in (SWAT or Police work) …
So basically Im a sober, abled bodied 30-35 year old Male Vetran with weapons training … who is BARRED from many Rights I should have… SENTENCED TO LOW PAY SHI>T Jobs for life…. MEANWHILE Fat cun.ts get to have $50,000 student loans ERASED?!?!?! THese women make 3X what I make and have EVERY oppoutinity I dont! They are irresponsible as f&*^ with money! They dont deserve a god damn thing!!! Look man, I know you did not do TAPS. That is a Requirement A full 1 month of taps is required with your transition to the civilian world. I fought like MAD to make sure the guys on my base that were getting the Kick out treatment got their rights before they left. You also Qualify for all the medical studies that pay out to the tune of $50. $150 per session for being their guinea pig.
Your mind is sharp. I think Business degree would do your well. However, I recommended going the Lawyer route. Or engineer. I heard you know how to work on Motorcycles, so I think you can work with a Micrometer. THat means you can do simple math, and do better then most women in the field. That requires a MASTERS DEGREE. Nothing stops you from taking extra law classes, and there is PLENTY of SCholarships to pay for that stuff if you just say “FEMALE”. SO you are good man. And can help file your own paperwork and get you back on the route to retire.

The thing is… in some respects — I got what I deserved. I was given a second chance at one point but the emotional issues I had coming back from Fallujah threw me into a substance abuse spiral that flunked me again.
In many respects, I was paperf~~~ed and tossed in the scrap heap… and in other respects, I was a repeat offender who got what he deserved. I was HIGHLY rebellous and insubordinate while in Garrison. When I was in the feild and in theatre, I was you IDEAL Marine… a guy you trust to be your six and save your life literally. But in Garrison, I was too susceptible to what I perceive now to be an emotional deficit … whatever — I wanted to get Drunk and Smoke Weed and Party… (I was a 18-21 year old KID)
I failed more Urine Analysis tests than I can count. I was dmeoted and on restricted duty numerous times. Lost pay, lost everything. Was treated like total dogshi.t. I served 26 days in the Brig. I was a declared a Deserter twice… you have to be gone more than 30 days to make that status… That is the hardcore Unauthorized Absence. (UA) Article 86 and Article 112a Illegal substance abuse. I was a VERY trouble and substance seeking young man who was given a 2nd chance at the School of Infantry. Unfortunately, because of my sad emotional feelings when coming back from Iraq… I lost my rank of Lance Corporal…. back down to Private for the 2nd time in 3 years.
All in All, I was given a Summary Court Marshal and handed a OTH discharge. They didnt even give me a bus ticket or gas money… pack your seabags and get the fu*& out… A sturdy F&^% YOU was the message.
Due to the nature of my discharge, I was ineligible for ANY benefits such as Vetarans healthcare or GI bill. You dont realize bro. I also signed papers saying that my hearing is NOT impaired, that I have no PTSD (although I definitely did have issues I refused to admit at that time… they led to further bottoms in the civilian world and eventually a near sucessful attempt on my life).
They gave me what I deserved bro and there is no “reversal” or Upgrade your Discharge type option. LOL. Although Im a stellar operator in theatre, a stand up Boy Scout type guy, that doesnt mean shi.t when you have a military record like mine with REPEATED Article 86 and 112a violations. Shi.t, you dont realize the things I did, Im lucky I only served 3 weeks in the Brig before the AdSeped me… they could have made it a year…
Anyway. My military record and DD214 is permanently stained. Not even a Colonel or Master Guns could unfu.ck my re-enlistment code. Even if China started nuking us and we reinstated the draft and called all reservists up… THEY’D SKIP MY FILE …lmao!
Once I got back to Texas… the shame of having effed up my Military career was monumental! That is when I no longer smoked weed but began DRINKING like a fish. Two DWIs and a Felony Evading Arrest in a vehicle while drunk at 22 years old. I didnt see the light of day for six months after that night…. 6 months it took, I plead No Contest. They were trying to nail me with worse… Harassment of Public Servant… saying I spit on the cop. LOL. He tackled me in my driveway which split my lip. I dont thing I spit on him so I refused to plead to that… What really happened is that they took me to the hospital when I was drunk that night and it took 4 nurses and 2 Cops to HOLD ME DOWN as they took blood against my will to have BAC Data to charge me with. I fight like hell but they got the blood.
I still continued drinking…. NO BOTTOM was LOW ENOUGH…. Eventually I tried to take my life. I SLIT my throat a bunch with a kitchen knife while drunk. Nearly bled to death before a friend called 911. WHen the police came to save me, I fought them while bleeding to death…they had to Taze me LOL. The surgeons saved me and gave me blood. That was 6 years ago this August. I havent had a drink since Summer 2013, not one drop since that night.
There is no salvation for my Paperwork bro. Im Highly intelligent, totally sober 6 years I dont even use tobacco… no prescriptions nothing. Im ethical and hardworking etc… NONE OF IT MATTERS… All that matters is that I once was too drunk and I was driving and that I didnt pull over… that makes me a felon and ineligible to be trusted to even run a gas station cashier’s box.

Absolutely in favor of this. And if she’s not employed, then draft it directly from her checking account. Hell, require her/him to use a debt card that has restrictions on it similar to WIC, only for necessity items.

True. Most of the programs I’m aware of are with companies allowing employees to get a master’s degree in a subject that will help the business. But you’re right, programs like Home Depot has (I assume) would be a smarter way to go. Although I imagine HD gets a tax writeoff for this. Still better than nothing.

I didn’t have to pay for my college, but I absolutely learned that living off a minimum wage job was not a good career goal. After HS, some of the other kids I worked with were not going to go college. Their plan was to just keep working at the movie theatre were we worked. They had to start working 70 hours a week just to make rent, live off fast food, and keep up their POS cars. The worst part is they had absolutely no way to change any of this. It was quite clear that it was no way to live.
And you are correct that a lot of people have no understand of how credit works whatsoever. I’ve heard many women tell me you only have to ever pay the minimum on your credit cards. They see the sticker price on a house or car, but how that then translates to a monthly payment? They have no idea.

Women wont date and marry men they feel are lower than they are, and they wont marry someone less well off than they are, they all need to at least have the potential to earn more than her. They have to be more attractive than her as well. And women only view 20% of men as attractive enough regardless of how ugly they are. They do of course marry for money but more guys are getting wise to being f~~~ed over, as many have already been divorce raped and had a lot of money and resources taken, and despite still worshipping pussy, they are not wanting to go through divorce rape again.totally agree, it used to be that a woman could ride the carousel for a 15 year party, run up debt and not bother to own property. Then she would marry a beta at 33/34, get a house, get an SUV and all the debt would go away and she could give up work. He would end up paying full retail for her used up pussy that she gave away for free to any Alpha who came along. But now due to social media they think they deserve the good looking, rich, alpha doctor/lawyer type and would never settle for a beta anymore.
I just don’t think women can help themselves when it comes to debt due to the feelz before realz they all seem to suffer from. My ex wife was certainly guilty of this, she was only happy if she had spent every penny of my money on useless s~~~, she didn’t understand the concept of saving money. It was literally a live for today mentality and not give a thought about tomorrow.
As soon as we seperated 5.5 years ago she straight away bought a new car that she is still paying for. I on the other hand bought a £1200 car that I still own, but I also have zero debt and a years salary in cash in the bank.
I know of women in their late 30s who have s~~~ jobs, loads of debt, living in a s~~~ty house share who basically go out drinking most nights of the week and still live as if they are in their 20s. Again, this is the live for today mentality, but do they think what they are going to do in the future, or if they will still be doing this at 50 or 60 years old?
I have zero sympathy, you did it to yourself.
For women, everything eventually boils down to Alpha Fucks, Beta Bucks.
