A lot of people call Einstein and all the other theoretical physicists geniuses because they dealt with more abstract concepts. Well, Tesla not only was a pioneer in several subjects, dealt with extreme abstract and complicated ones, but also give the means to bring those subjects to the real world applications.

Yes, that is correct. Tesla was grounded in reality. He did not like the direction Science was headed with Einstein. It got too abstract, too much emphasis on theory.

In Tesla’s view a good theory comes from good inventions. The inventions proved out the theory. That’s why he invented first and theorized second.

In his mind, the later Scientists were putting the cart before the horse.

In the words of Edwin H Armstrong (Also an Inventor):

“They substitute words for realities and then talk about the words.”

He had a few flaws but show me someone who hasn’t.

I hate when people try to “disprove” Tesla, by using things that he said, or planned when he was in his death bed, like that “death tower” of his.
He wasn’t perfect, he was f~~~ed over and over again by manginas & society, but hell that guy is an inspiration for anyone in STEM.

Usually those who criticize him, have the same amount of flaws, but never contributed with a single s~~~ to anything.

    Very true.
It’s too easy to spot the flaws in those who stick their necks out and try to forward mankind.

And so true that those who criticise the most have achieved s~~~.

he could “see” in his mind a mechanical device,

Everyone (who is engineer or scientist or programmer or such) can learn that and it is a must have thing for great results (or, may be a must have for everyday survival…).

To imagine vector and matrix operations (and the shortest run time) of a program, guessing the Fourier transformed shape of a signal, to imagine the propagation of some powerful laser pulse that may melt optics and tear atoms apart, to imagine what an electric circuit may do… Mechanical stuff is more simple than that most of the time. But, in all cases, doing something without imagining it first can quickly lead to trouble.
