Agreed. I remember the first time I watched South Park and couldn’t believe these guys were making a mint with the toilet humor that most High School buds took part in. Girls would tell us to “Grow Up” and “Mature” so we naturally put it in check when the girls were around.

It really wasn’t until around the 17 century, with the advent of the notion of romantic love, that men’s roles were supposed to encompass being her friend, lover, provider, daddy, psychologist and every thing else under the sun…including being the husband of the women. The multiple expectations of the husband role…eventually crowds out any other primary relationships. For most of human history, men’s most enduring friendships were with other men.
