All I say was check the first 10 seconds or so out of this, and then ignore the rest. This screams “bait and switch” to me. From what I know, the new Ghostbusters is a reboot, but they are pitching it like it is a continuation. WTF? I am saying that because they want the original cast back in cameos and NOT have them be their original characters?

    Here is the trailer:

Is there a better spot on MGTOW.com to discuss this? I didn’t see a form for movies, etc… now.

I posted this topic yesterday. Really interesting things going on revolving around this Ghostbusters s~~~.

So apparently the Ghostbusters trailer response is hilarious.

you’re right. it starts saying 30 years ago s~~~ happened to make it seem like this story is in the same universe but it’s not. when you watch the trailer, this is something new to the characters and the world they live in. no memory of the city almost being destroyed or the sequel.

I bathe in the tears of single moms.

I’ll wait until it comes out on DVD and not watch it anyway.

    I saw the trailer today.
This movie is going to suck. Big time. It is the cinematic version of watching a car crash. If the “best scenes” of the movie are those in the trailer, than this will be the worse disapointment since “Batman Forever”.

    Maybe worse.

    Yes, its that bad.

I wouldn’t even torrent it. This is the sort of film you’ll only find in the Five for Five Dollars bin at the supermarket, only to eventually end up as landfill next to copies of Battlefield Earth and Spice World.

I predict many many razzies for this production.

Probably end up in the landfill with ET cartridges.

It reminds me of the Scooby Doo live action movie.

Yop, nothing short of lying their way, fooling people into thinking, this is a sequel of sorts, it is not, it is a hard reset.

This s~~~ show of a movie, deserves all the hate it is getting, and Sony for f~~~ing up this much.

At least THAT movie tried to have the original characters, a bit tied to the original, so this is worse. It is copy the format of the original, but attempt to reboot the original out of existence. In addition, there is a social justice agenda over it. There was complains the black woman character wasn’t a scientist also.

Ghostbusters, and other things out there (related to Gamergate), is motivating me to do a video called something like “Agenda Drive Party Poopers”. I may show a picture of Lacey Green’s video on how doing feminism drains the fun out of everything.

I will say I have maybe a different view on this. I don’t care if they decide to have all women characters in the leads, IF… and this IF is important, it has a logical connection to the other films. Say all the characters are related to the original men who play in the film, and the original characters went away, and they inherit the firehouse, etc… and decide to come back. But no, it is try to copy and look of the original leads, but have them as women? This is not “I hate women”. What this is, is “I hate disrespecting the original material, for the sake of a political agenda”. So, as it is now, I am seeing nothing here that attempts to remotely respect the original material out all. It is a cash grab. It is what Hollywood does now, recycle IPs.

I can even say this, even unlike the new Star Wars that JJ Abrams is doing, which has continuity, this apparently doesn’t, but you do a BS trailer to tell me that it does. That is bait and switch.

Only 100,000 when you saw the trailer? I’m the 273,501st dislike.

Speaking of the trailer, they’re making it look real stupid looking. Hopefully it bombs at the box office like The Honeymooners back in 2005 when they made major changes to that cast. Seriously, if the trailer is the best they’re going to have in this movie, then it really will be stupid. Yes, I can’t stand replacing the guys with gals who have no brains at all, and one of which looks like a fat cow, who can feed China for a month.

I have a friend I grew up with who ended up in movie production. He used to tell me a lot of what went into the process of making a movie.

Sounds like, from what I am hearing and what he told me, they might have had some very bad feedback on the “reboot” concept in early (sometimes secretive) test screenings and reworked it into a continuation.

Usually, when a movie goes through that radical a reworking, it is not a good sign. Sounds like we have another “Gigli” or “Catwoman” on our hands.

I saw a newsflash on Imdb the other day that nearly made me burst into tears, it was so infuriating. It said something like, “Since the new Ghostbusters reboot was announced, the film has tried everything it can to stand on its own.”

(After much incoherent short-circuiting) YOU MEAN APART FROM COMING UP WITH ITS OWN IDEA?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I can’t comprehend this at all. I mean, AT ALL. You think it in your right to steal an idea THAT A MAN CAME UP WITH, and then be surprised that it’s having trouble detaching itself from that? How does that make sense? Seeing somebody else’s success, deciding, “That was a cool trend, I think that I’ll have it aswell”, and then believing that you have the right to say, “Why can’t this just be mine?” That marks the 701st time that Harold Ramis rolled over in his grave. How can they even –

Oh Jesus, I shouldn’t even have to explain it. You must realise why that headline was horses~~~. Mister Paul Fieg. I will no longer watch your movies, read your interviews, or brake when I see you crossing the street.

There was a line in the comments section that read, “I can’t wait for the new Ghostbusters movie to bomb.”

Dude, famous last words. Let’s not jinx it. I would love for it to bomb aswell, but remember that sometimes (not always, but sometimes) it’s the movies that they think are going to bomb that don’t. So be careful with your predictions, or the opposite might happen.

And then we’ll get a sequel.
