I went on my own to China in 2007 for 8 weeks, spent most of that in Xinjiang and Tibet way out west, pure wilderness. Because almost no one could speak English I was liberated from annoying strangers sparking up empty chit chat. It was one of the greatest trips of my life, took a two day train from Shanghai to Turpan, then on to Kashgar.

Took a rickety bus from the Taklamakan Basin – under sea level – up to Ali in Western Tibet in another two days, think it was 5000m up there. Got AMS really bad, but you take the rough with the smooth. It was awesome, spiritual. Hiked the Mount Kailash Kora, didnt see another living thing for nearly 24hrs on the bottom leg. I was yelling and whistling and no one was there to hear or see. I felt like the last man on Earth. Primal.

Lake Manasarovar – in the region of Tibet that the four major rivers of the Indian subcontinent have their sources, The Brahmaputra, The Indus, The Sutlej, and the Ganges. Look on a map and see the area of land and humanity that covers, and I was there within a few miles of the sources of each one.

I took my first wife to Nepal two years before on a break from working in Iraq. We were meant to walk the Annapurna Circuit, but she couldn’t hack it, complained the whole time, especially about having to s~~~ down the side of a cliff then wash your arse with a communal cup of water taken from a barrel with a three inch layer of ice on top. No mod cons in the Himalaya, hence why your average western woman flakes or does the dying swan act.

I left her for nearly three days in a hostel with a guide just short of the Annapurna sanctuary, and hiked up there to boot camp with a local kid to see the majesty of Annapurna, Fang, Macchapuchre, Annapurna 2 etc. Breathtaking.

The best part of our 6 week trip was the time I was on my own away from my wife. that’s why she stayed home on the China/Tibet trip, no way was I letting her spoil that.

Go for it, just pick a destination and rock up ready to get it on. Forget all your back home bulls~~~ and immerse yourself in another culture.

Not sure if you have already been on the trip or are still planning it? I’m currently planning my next trip to Thailand, I generally go once a year if possible. It sounds like ur from the US, in which case you may not have a passport or be interested in overseas travel. A lot of Americans aren’t. However, consider Thailand. There’s a reason they made the Hangover 2 there. It’s off the chain!

Firstly, you can hang out with other guys who are on holiday, most of them are like you, traveling alone or in small groups. On this trip, Im staying with a buddy in Bangkok, then going to Pattaya to play golf, relax and f~~~ beautiful girls for the price of a meal at CHilis! Honestly, every mgtow man should experience Thailand once in their lives, but of course it is better if you know someone there.

I’ve had some crazy Hangover movie type holidays where I woke up and just said WTF happened? It’s so fun to share your crazy stories with your new friends while u all nurse your hangovers. It can be a sketchy place for Americans as you guys aren’t the most well traveled people in the world, but if you find a group of MGTOW guys to hang with, I guarantee you will have a holiday that you will remember for the rest of your days!
Good luck and think about Thailand for your next trip.

Sorry just to clarify about my post. I realised I sounded a bit harsh against Americans. Not my intention at all! In fact, I traveled across the states for 3 months and I think it’s the best country in the world to travel. My meaning was that you guys get only 10-14 days holiday per year and there is so much to see and do in the US, you need never leave really! Much like my native NZ, which is another awesome place to travel in. However, do give some thought to SE Asia, as you can have the best of culture, food, relaxation, sports, AND you can hire a cute “girlfriend” to hang out with if you get lonely! Best of all, you can give her back when your done! Bon journey bro

I prefer to go on vacations solo but i do tend to pack a heavy dose of adventure and high adrenaline sports activities, which i do with like minded people, into vacations.

Not a traditional “vacations” but i wouldn’t want it other way.

I travel a lot for fun. It can be expensive with double occupancy rates. The hard part is getting over the idea you can’t travel with another guy. I’m hard core straight but have a better time without a woman wanting all my attention. So I have some old friends I travel with. It’s all in your mind cause nobody cares. Most hotels have rooms with two beds. Make sure you ask.

Learn to dive and use your dive shop to hook you up with dive buddies and go to exotic places (I’ve been to Mexico, Belize and Hawaii this way)

Take a tour and let them find you a roommate.

Be the host. Plan the trip and invite who you want. I do camp outs like this and use travel agents who get me deal for organizing it.

Seriously it’s all in your head. Men are programmed to be kept apart so they make you feel gay for just sharing a room. It’s blue pill programming, but no worse than being bunked in the military.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.

It’s great that you were able to get back to basics and shed the trappings of civilization for a moment. Some do it by rolling down the windows of their car and shouting as they drive along. Some by hiking and challenging nature at its most extreme. Kudos on obtaining an unbelievable memory that will be with you forever.

It’s easy when a woman isn’t around to slow you down.

I won’t go on a vacation with a woman again. They always need a schedule, something to plan, something to do, something to argue about etc.

Going down to the NC coast again this year, this will be my second solo vacation down there.

It’s a great feeling waking up in the morning, looking out and seeing the beach, knowing you can do whatever you want.

My last vacation was in March to see my sister, TOTAL disaster! Now I am laid off and can’t afford to go anywhere but even if I had millions, I think I will stay put for awhile.

“Kinda boring when one goes by themselves… No?”
That is an assumption. Assumptions can be right… or wrong.
My question to you, is simple: What lead you to assume that a trip alone is boring?
Why not try it first, then decide if it is boring?

Hell, just grab a car and drive 500 miles in any direction (except into the water that is). Let us know what you will find out.

Easy, pack some camp gear on your motorbike, pick a direction and hit the road. US of A has it all, deserts, mountains lakes. Here in UK just a short run through the tunnel to Europe.
I always tie a red ribbon to my righthand mirror to remind me ride on the right as soon as a I get over there, since they have the steering wheels on the wrong side of the car compared to the UK.
Le Camping in France is fairly cheap, then drop into a motel every five days or so for a good clean up. Cheap food is everywhere, just follow the locals. Cheap fuel and beer is in Luxembourg or carry on down to Spain. Never take a woman they complain about the seat, need to stop every ten miles and want to bring a mountain of kit you can’t fit on your bike.
My ex wanted to take 21 pairs of underwear for a 7 day trip plus ten pairs of shoes…… She stayed home that year.

Always wanted to check out Cali. I have some reward points that can cover the flight and a week hotel stay. I know nothing about Cali aside that Tom says it’s amazing. Anyone know of some good areas that are interesting to visit?
