Disturbing Number of NE Patriots Claim Brain Injuries, According to Lawsuit

“Some 42 of about 100 Patriots who were members of New England’s first three Super Bowl title teams have alleged in a landmark class-action concussion suit against the NFL and the helmet maker Riddell that they have experienced symptoms of brain injuries caused by the repetitive head impacts they absorbed in games and practices,” reports the Boston Globe.

10: Number of Patriots’ Hall of Famers who alleged they suffered brain injuries: Houston Antwine, Nick Buoniconti, Raymond Clayborn, Sam Cunningham, Steve Grogan, John Hannah, Stanley Morgan, Jon Morris, Steven Nelson, and Babe Parilli.

8: Number of Patriots who have been posthumously diagnosed with CTE: Ronnie Caveness, Aaron Hernandez, Dr. Bill Lenkaitis, Chuck Osborne, Junior Seau, Mosi Tatupu, Kevin Turner, and Dennis Wirgowski.

21: Number of Patriots in the lawsuit who died before the NFL settlement. Their average age at death was 57.6.

——–Was wondering what the current status of the cte case was at this time. Along with Hernandez case. The NFL could survive a class action,..Riddell will not. 42 players in the current action, that just being the Patriots case.

No helmet can prevent a human brain from internally smacking the inside of the skull. Helmets were never designed to prevent that from occurring, because its impossible for a helmet to stop that.

Its like expecting a bulletproof vest to stop not only the bullet but stop the force of the round from bruising the person or prevent the force from breaking a rib where the round hits the body. It cannot do that. The force of impacts cause that force to travel through the bodys internal structures. Helmets protect from cuts and scrapes and external blows but the force of those blows can still cause internal organs to move about due to absorbtion/dissapation of that blow’s force into the body tissues.

Personally I sympathize but its a losing case to me, from a medical/scientific/engineering standpoint. Helmet makers have never claimed they can prevent someones brain from smashing against the inside of their skulls from a blow to the head. Never. Further i find it way disengenuous none of these guys ever thought they’d end up with brain damage after all the willing hits they took for years. To suddenly claim surprise after all this time is to me just as phony as the hollywood #metoo women who played the couch casting game for years and got paid lots of money and got lots of fame for it. Only to bite the hand they allowed to feed them all those years.

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

No one forced them to continually smash their head against non-negotiable objects. They signed up for it knowing the risks. No need to cry about their poor choice of sport now. They should’ve played Tennis or Golf!
As far as I’m concerned it’s no different than moto races or formula-1 or Nascar. People may die and everyone understands that.

Don't let them Blame, Shame or Tame you!
Give 'em NOTHING, not even an answer!
