First,I want to point to this article.

Long story short. My 10 year old son is now experimenting how to set the house on fire.

Um. I don’t think that visit with the school counselor went too well today. Ya THINK? [-)

So in the meantime. we can see more kids like the one linked above doing the same thing and getting put in jail.

The world really has gone to hell.

And there is only one mention of this. Odd..

Do the opposite of what most dads would do. Take him out camping and teach him all the ways to make fire and cook a steak. Teach him fire safety. I’ve done this with guns too. Works great

Yup. My 10 year old boy dug a pit in the back yard and cooks steaks for himself. He has 3 pellet guns, a 22lr and a 30 o 6 for deer. Spend time with them outside, you will be surprised at what care and attention produces.

I have 3 questions about the news story:

    1. Where was the father? There’s no mention of him.

    2. Why couldn’t the lady escape through the closet and find something heavy to break the door open?

    3. Why would someone have a bedroom door that can be locked and latched from the outside?

I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)

Those are questions that will never be answered by the reporters or asked. You guys know why.

But let’s see…How did this 10 year old save his mom????

None of this story makes sense.

Just some 14 year old teen boy in jail… Hmmm. This story just does not seem right.

I agree. Sounds like a need for some positive attention and trust building. Boys wanna be men you teach them how or they will figure it out for themselves with mixed results. Obviously, if you think a kid is not all there that’s different, but a normal healthy boy needs a man to teach them how to make a fire and someone who trusts them to tend it. Once you get rolling it’s really enjoyable to teach a kid power tools, guns, driving, camping, archery.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.

Social media encourages people to act stupidly. Alot of these kids are running around with internet connected devices and getting influenced by what they see out there.

Just look at proliferation of videos now where people break the law, make a nuisance of themselves, make messes, disrespect authority, destroy property, trespass. A few years ago you didn’t see much of this stuff on Youtube.

Now people are daring popular Youtubers to do dumber and dumber things and they happily do it. Some people even take pride in getting themselves banned from various places.

There was even one where some guys sneak into a popular Youtubers house and try to hide in his basement for 24 hours. Until they got caught by the guy.

Damn good advice, Chaff. I plan to enroll in some basic survival classes and read the U.S. Navy SEAL Handbook soon.

Yea MM! Nothing feels better than walking into the woods with a pack and a pistol and walking out 3 weeks later fatter and with food for dinner. Out there, your DNA starts waking up…just like a squirrel doesn’t need to be taught how to bury nuts.

You know guys, I think its time I do that.

But first I got to get over the court system and see HOW I can spend that time with him.

Its sad, but right now, My son gets grounded and on trouble for just talking to me.

I guess at some point. You have to pick whats best. Have your sons beat up and abused by his mother for talking to his father or even having visitation with him…

Or think out of the box, and just let him be destructive, and just be around to pick up the pieces later. And try to fix all the s~~~ that’s going to happen.

Saw it happen with my 2 older boys not having a father around did to them. Now I am wondering. What was the right thing?

Fight a losing battle with tools not made to work. Or Make my own tools.

I am doing the later. THanks guys for the advice.

That’s f~~~ed up about him getting his ass kicked. Only you know the situation but you got to get that fixed. Record everything, don’t drink, and maximum pressure to spend time with your kid. Sounds like you are his only hope.
