I heard this on the radio tonight. Bob Seger has always sung about my life.

Memories of San Diego in the 70’s.

I was on my way home from my second WestPac when I met this Japanese girl in Honolulu. She took me to a hotel, screwed my brains out just because, fed me eggs benedict in bed, and drove me back to the ship. I went home to face my divorce.

"Don't follow in my footsteps...I stepped in something."

I have the same feeling, except with Bob Dylan’s music. Probably why his music among my favorite.

    Thanks JoeTech.

It’s U2 music for me, wonder what it is about service men and songs.

The good and bad times are always associated with a song.

Guess it’s from being away from civilization and dealing with coming back to all that is strange, and one of the first things that hits you is the music, noise and people.

    Songs…

That reminds me, Nothing beats driving down the desert road with Drowning Pool playing full blast. That was our go to song for whenever we passed between victory and the embassy. Disturbed filled any excess time.

Check! It’s strange how these patterns helped focus your attention. “Welcome to the Jungle”

Upon finishing the fun basic training ftx, 15k march back: when we made it back to the barracks, they played this song.
