I am very sorry to hear about your father. The fact that you are a mess tells me that you and your father experienced a very strong bond. Those memories are something that you will always carry with you for the rest of your life.
Your relationship with your father has just evolved to another level. You will now experience his presence in more powerful and profound ways. Just remember what Ben Kenobe (Star Wars) told Darth Vader just before Vader killed him:

Sorry for your loss, but be thankful for the great relationship you had with him. My father was/is a physically abusive Narcissistic Sociopath with extreme episodes of Narcissistic Rage, I will likely throw a party when he passes, the only thing I will be sad about is that I didn’t have a good relationship with him.

You are very lucky, and I mean very f~~~ing lucky to of had a man who’s death you mourn upon his passing as a father.
