I disagree. It is never wise to have all your advisors come from the same set of points of view. The whole point of having advisors is to those advisors offer different points of view on very topics.

While there is likely disagreement with some political views, there needs to be realization that given the political power wielded by the White House an informed decision from all possible points of view is a wise approach to take.

Many errors in judgment from those in power came from not fully understanding a situation before making a judgment call.

Faust has a point. While some of the views they push are rather distasteful they should still be present so we can see them for what they are. While their perspective might not be desirable in every situation, it should still be present to provide more thoughtful discussion. Hell, a little perspective might open up alternative options that might have been completely ignored.

I might hate what they have to say but I’ll sure as hell fight for their right to say it. Free speech should never come with a caveat, regardless of your views.

Logic guides your actions, emotion guides your morals. Only you may decide how you use them.

As President, Donald Trump needs to know the point of view of liberals. Of such liberals, his daughter and son in law are less likely to lie to him on a subject when he asks them what their opinions are on a point of view.

The last thing a leader needs is to be surrounded by “yes men/yes women” That was one of the mistakes of the last three previous presidential administrations.

I think you may have misunderstood my statement. I don’t consider “first daughter” to be a real position of power. I’m talking about the hypothetical scenario of having someone like Ivanka as president. Trump may be smart enough to surround himself with advisers of various opinions, and discerning enough to make the right choice, but would she do the same?

I agree but then that raises a question—why is there not a single constitutional conservative in his inner circle of advisers–hell or even outer circle? If Trump allows his principals to be diluted and co opted he will lose the one thing he has going for him—the base. And without us he is a one term Pres soon to be fresh out of friends.

It is disturbing – does it mean Trump cannot or will not work or has at least some confidence in anyone else? This will only isolate him further. It is going to be a long 4 years – if he gets that far.
