I wish there was a decent bullpup 12ga. I had high hopes for that Keltec, but unfortunately it turned out to be a Keltec.

Theirs is an interesting concept, but not quite enough R&D to make it workable before shoveling it onto the market.

sausage fingers is right. The 10/22 is a great rifle and the one I have I tricked out with a custom stock and a couple of 30 rd clips—its cousin the 30 carbine is a fine choice too. The Romanian AK training rifle in 22 is a great choice too.

Kel-tec is usually junk but Mossberg makes a fine bullpup.

Suppressor kit for my ruger 10/22

In combination with subsonic ammo it will sound like a bb gun. Got a squirrel and rabbit problem.

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, it is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning; it is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

The best gun to own is the one you have in your hand when you really, really need it.

I bought one of those years ago for about $100–they are now way over priced in my view. Its not a bad little gun but because the barrel screws into the receiver and the receiver is made of aluminum –as is the barrel sleeve so over time the tolerances begin to give and you lose some accuracy. And I should add the plastic stock isn’t as “robust” as one might think—it is prone to cracking and breaking if dropped or something falls on it.

Although there is an argument for the Ruger again they are a little pricey for what they are. I would recommend the Marlin Mdl 60 or 70. They are easier to take down, and repair if necessary…many a person taking down the Ruger complains about what happened to their thumb in the process. They are also very accurate. It broke my heart to sell the one I just refurbished.

MADE a fine bullpup. I believe it was a conversion kit for the 500 (possibly the 590) and has been out of production for years.

OK I have no personal experience with their Bullpup…BUT

I do have experience with the Kel-tec .380, and it was junk
I do have experience with the .223 pistol and it was junk

I know referring to things as junk is conclusory, but I’ve found all the “plastic/poly stuff to be of indifferent quality and the .223 was a “jam-machine”. God help you if your life is depending on that thing.

    Just saying.

I’m also a big fan of the Ruger 10/22. I received that rifle for Christmas when I was 12 yrs old. Great firearm.

My favorite CWP gun is my Springfield XDS in .45. It is a little bulky even with a single stack, but it is incredibly accurate and I’m a fan of the .45 round over the 9mm.

I also have a tiny .38 SW Featherlight. It is really concealable and a great little pistol but the handle is really small so it isn’t fun to hold onto when shooting – but very functional.

For a large caliber rifle my favorite is my M-1 Garand, match grade.

For Shotgun my Mossberg 835 is awesome. I bought it at a pawn shop when I was young and broke over 18 years ago. Last Spring I totally dismantled it, gave it a deep clean and then camo’d it with one of those kits. Then promptly shot a turkey with it. The camo job came out unexpectedly well.

Springfield makes good stuff–I have a plain jane government model. BUT If I were compelled to pick an auto-loading firearm I would go with something that chambered 10mm. I have a “franken-gun” that fires that round:

Lower receiver is a PARA ordinance 10mm Double stack,
Upper is a Colt delta elite
The barrel/Bushing is an Ed Brown
Its a little ammo sensitive but excellent weapon.

I’m not disagreeing with you on keltec. Not in the least. They’re a company with interesting ideas, but deeply flawed implementation. I don’t think they have the budget to work the bugs out of anything before dumping it on the market, so they damage their reputation by releasing half baked junk, so they can’t charge as much as more reliable makers, so they don’t have as high a profit margin, so they don’t have the money for proper product development. And they don’t understand that’s a losing business model.

tl;dr: Keltec was business savvy enough to see the market for a good 12ga bullpup, but lacks the manufacturing acumen to actually produce one.

However I was talking about the Mossberg bullpup. Yeah, they’re good, but Mossberg hasn’t made them for two decades or more. And the used ones I’ve seen have either had the crap beat out of them over the years, or the seller wants an arm and a leg.

I’ve seen some aftermarket clones of the mossy bullpup conversion kit, but, quite frankly, the build quality on those clones looks like s~~~.
