In His 1400-horsepower twin-turbo methanol fueled 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR V2.

Man I got a an adrenaline rush and a raging hard on watching him put that car thru it’s paces. Ken is such an outstanding rally driver. If you guys are looking to get into sanctioned auto racing….. Performance Rally is the s~~~!
I crewed for a buddy of mine for 1 season, caught the bug and built up a clean 2nd Gen 1988 Mazda RX-7. Car, cage, seats harnesses, modified suspension, upgraded brakes, new factory rebuilt 13B rotary, new paint and rally computer Did it all for less than $10K. Went out and had the best times of my life for several years.
It’s an easy sport to break into. You take your finished car to a tech inspector an get a logbook for the vehicle. Go to a driver’s class that is a couple hours long, they hand you a license and you are sanctioned to race. None of this SCCA track bulls~~~ where you shell out thousands of dollars year after year and they won’t turn you loose to race. The track guys are snob pussies anyway. Rally racers are a completely different breed of animal.
Performance rally beats the living crap out of drag racing, going around and around an oval track or especially a road course. You get to drive like a maniac as fast as you dare go on a series of closed roads all weekend long! It was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life! Great bunch of guys too! They all helped each other out all the time on the course and in the service area to make sure everyone stayed in the competition.
Check out National Auto Sports Association (NASA) or Rally America web sites to learn more. Do it man! Do it!
It would be tempting to try for a younger dude. Reaction time slows a bit nearing 60 years old.
Cool
I’ve got out of a Twin Otter at 14,000 ft, fell towards the ground and possible death.
Then landed 50ft from the same plane hanger I had walked out of towards the plane earlier.
Then did it again.
14,000 feet has different meanings depending on what you are doing at it.
Peace,
SKY-💀
badass!
Though personally I get more adrenaline and appreciation out of Sebastien Loeb’s 8m13.878s record hill climb. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y20CLumT2Sg
Also you can’t forget this classic film “Climb Dance” of Ari Vatanen owning Pikes Peak in 1988. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiWbtOrHeFU
