This list changes often. I like to weed out the ‘sorry-ass’ movies and replace them with good ones. For example: ‘Flight of the Phoenix’ & ‘Birth’ will get moved to a secondary resting place because they both kind of suck. I do not return movies for a dollar, may as well keep them for that price. Also, I don’t return them because I throw away those normal size DVD black cases and use smaller cases. It saves five times as much space.

Any additional recommendations will be useful thanks. I have acquired these mostly second hand, not new. So yes, there is much to be desired but you won’t find those at pawn shops and Movie Trading Co. I plan to add more but need recommendations because it will have to be a new purchase online.

Always nice to see someone posting his list of movies. I have about 175 and will post the list if anyone’s interested. I’ve collected those in about 15 years, but also threw a bunch away either because they sucked, I’d never watch them again, or they were damaged. Think I had about 200 all in all.

Oh hell yes brother. Dr. Stragelove is f~~~ing platinum, probably the best movie of all time, f~~~ Gone With the Wind. Lawrence of Arabia is sweet too though. Good choices, those are all in my top 20 for sure!

    OTHER FAVS:
Alien, ALiens, Alien 3, Prometheus & Alien Covenant (sorry I’m a fan boy)
Solaris (can’t stress enough, both versions are the s~~~ imo)
Under the Skin (a rare and precious jewel)
    Bladerunner (any cut, any version)
Interstellar (sorry! LOL love that weepy, artsy, lost in space s~~~)
Eyes Wide Shut (though, after 50 viewings in 10 years, I’m burned out on it)
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (this is actually a f~~~ing great film, rewatch it)
Ravenous, Red Dragon and Delicateseen are all decent Horror. *Not into horror much.
Master and Commander (gotta love Russell Crowe in this cult love of mine)

For comedy, find Alien Autopsy, very funny film made by British
    guys.

For Western, watch The Proposition. (I have weakness for Guy Peirce)
    For War, watch The Frontline

And of course, the usuals: AI, The Abyss, Sphere, Enemy, Sunshine, Zero Theorem, Chappie….

Thanks for the feedback. Movies can be a solo passion so it’s great to know there are other sci fi junkies around.

I hate the “Lists”… You know, those morons who try to list the best 1000 movies of all time and you see s~~~ like Transformers or Avatar on there.

    Here is the issue:

Lists MUST be put into Genre and Era too, if possible. Camera technology has gotten twice as good as the 90’s stuff, and those 90’s movies were awesome compared to the 60’s or prior.

You just can’t try to compare and contrast, for instance, the two Bladerunners. One was made without computers. And it’s idiotic to cross genres in a mega list. The Godfather (one and two) is a drama and can’t be judged with 2001: A Space Odyssey or Lawrence of Arabia. They’re all different genres.

Anyway, you know what I’m saying. I saw one list where they only listed one movie for every year, for 100 years. How stupid, because look at a year like 2017, where two epic movies came out (Bladerunner and Alien Covenant), but in 2018, there won’t be s~~~ on the radar. This happens all the time. Some years just suck.

Heat is a good one. Kind of MGTOW too.

Don't look back, you're not going that way.

Joe Bauers: Special Thanks for leading me to Omega Man. Was already a Soylent Green fan. I discovered Soylent Green accidentally and loved it a year ago.

The Fletch movies are a nice change. Also added to collection. Idiocracy is a no brainer cult hit. Love it, also added.

Still looking for Theif and Conan.

Ice Pirates is crazy. Not sure about that but Repo Man was pretty cool.

Gonna watch Rollarball tonight. Appreciate the leads.

Forgot to mention I own Apocalypse Now and Last Tango in Paris too. Gotta throw some Marlin Brando in there.

I always preferred Godfather Pt. II over the original. Just throwing it out there.
