I checked it out, I’m skeptical, their v4 could be achieved with a V-2 DOHC 4 valves per cylinder turbo charged. It looks like torque is it’s best feature but I’m a power to weight ratio disciple.

I’d like to see what a Rotax direct injection 2 stroke would do on a bike! You’ll need axle centered winglets like a cruise missile to keep it from flying! It has as much, if not more, horsepower than a 4 cylinder pickup truck!

I’m also not sure about the flywheel, crank, and camshaft, spinning out of sink with the wheels, and the force it puts in a lateral direction. However small the effect it goes counter to steering, I like cranks and flywheels in sink with the wheels and nothing spinning perpendicular.

Rotax has one of the best power to weight ratios out there, they’re commonly used in untralite aircraft for that reason.

It’s not a problem on the boxer BMWs or transverse V Guzzis. Unless the flywheel is really big, its moment of inertia is negligible compared to that of the wheels. Also when you think about how countersteering works you’ll see how a transverse flywheel doesn’t have much effect anyways. A horizontal flywheel would be a different matter, but I’m unaware of such a thing outside helicopters.

Pushing a propeller is a different task to pushing a tire. I would hate to have to design the transmission to make a rotax ultralight engine work on a motorcycle. You’d have to wind up the f~~~ out of it.

They should have given it direct injection.

I’m not knocking the push rod V engine I have Briggs Vanguard v twin running a 10,000 watt generator and it’s also used in ultra-lite aircraft for dependability and efficiency. Briggs and Stratton’s best achievement in my opinion.
