"Mother and Baby are doing fine" – how about Dad??

So we get an email this morning from one of the ladies at my office about the recent birth of a girl to a colleague. “Mom and Baby are doing fine”. You’d think the baby was conceived alone. What about Dad? He had something to do with it.
How about how he’s doing? Most likely not that great – after the glow wears off he will be facing 18 plus years of support. And if marriage stats are to be believed – better than 50% chance of paying child support and vaginamony to the mother of a child he will rarely get to see.
Maybe that’s why these Mangina and T~~~ birth announcements don’t mention Dad.

Probably a vast array to pick from.

They may have three dads on the go.

Are we really complaining about this? Dad is not at any risk for medical complications during a birth. Whatever is going on with Dad emotionally or economically didn’t just happen during the birth, nor is it information likely to be communicated on a company email.

Ok. Then do it.

Complaint is the lack of communication regarding the father. Yes the mother and child should take center stage, but fathers should be recognized.

I never interpreted it to be about taking center stage. What exactly do you want to know about the father? If your point is that Dad’s don’t get enough credit in general, I agree with you. As for child birth specifically, I don’t see it.

Having got two kids, I actually felt great about both experiences. Heck, I didn’t have to deal with the pain. My then wife actually looked at me with love and appreciation that I was there. I got to go and announce news to family instead of being stuck in bed. I’m not going to complain about not getting enough attention during the birth of my kids.

This is so true… When both of my kids were born my inlaws came down to help with stuff and the abuse that my father in law took from both his daughter (my wife at the time) and his wife was astonishing. This poor blue pill bastard just walked around on egg shells and was on standby for anything the c~~~s needed or wanted. At night he would just start the crown drip a little earlier and earlier until they left two weeks later. To this day I feel for that f~~~er.

As for me, things slowly started to shift in this direction for me too and I was definitely blue pill. I did stick up for myself pretty quickly with my wife and told her you will not talk to me that way. Now the mother in law c~~~ tried to push me around too but I just ignored the bitch.

Yes this is so true. Nobody gives a flying f~~~ about dads. From the time the kids are born and all through their lives. Look at commercials these days. Dads and husbands are bafoons who can’t even dress themselves.

Hmmm I wonder how civilization got where it is today with all of us make idiots walking around.
