I am thrilled that I never had to wear this Atmospheric Dive Suit (ADS) while underwater. Yikes

While the use of diving bells was recorded in 400BC by Aristotle, da Vinci first mentioned air tanks in the late 1400’s. http://www.davincilife.com/scuba-gear.html

The first recorded use of a rebreather was around 1620 in an English early oar-powered submarine, however the prototype rebreather was built in 1840 by Pierre Aimbale De Saint Simon Sicard.

The first ADS was used in 1911 and went down to 212 feet.

The Italian Navy developed advance first developed “military grade” rebreathers based upon British rebreather patents prior to WWII. The British used captures Italian Frogman gear, as well as German Luftwaffe oxygen canisters to develop own during the war.

    Records:
Recreational Divers are cautioned against diving more than 130 feet.

Deepest Free Immersion apnea (no ballast or fins allowed): 124 feet May 2016 Jeanine Grasmeijer

Deepest Scuba Dive: 1,090 feet Sep 2014 Ahmed Gabr
12 minutes to reach the depth and 14 hours to decompress coming back up.

Current submersibles have reached a depth of 35,756 feet (6.77 miles)

A century ago there were so many inventions, while some were designed to kill, many inventions were created to make life easier for the common people.

Now the only inventions being created are those to harm the common people and make money off of the common people at the expense of the common people.

When I was a little kid we would do the same thing with 5 gallon buckets in the pool. One kid would hold the bucket under and we would swim up into it. Like a mini submarine. Had no Idea who Aristotle was at the time. I guess I am a visionary. HaHa.
