After leaving a meeting of military staff discussing issues related to the Units training status, I witnessed a female (First Lieutenant Nurse) approach the unit commander (Full Colonel) and drop to her knees in front of him. She grabbed him behind both knees, pulled herself close to his crotch and looked up to say “that she would do ANYTHING to be promoted to Captain.”

Two male unit members removed her arms from around his legs and pulled her aside (Myself and the First Sergeant) . As the Commander proceeded down the hallway with the remainder of his staff, she continued asking what she had to do to be promoted. I never knew what happened afterwards to that officer regarding disciplinary procedures as we were mobilized.

I found out later that she had been discharged from the military as a Major (promoted twice) as an openly gay feminist. This was well before 1993 and “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”.

It’s not just the women that are victimized.
