MGTOW.com is blocked by my mobile phone service provider

I have not posted here for over 2 months as ive been busy with moving location and house repairs and then I became ill – f~~~ that s~~~. Good to be here again. I did not until last week have internet for my PC at my new location – 2 months ago I had been attempting to access mgtow.com via my mobile phone yet I could not because MGTOW.com is blocked by my mobile service provider.

I made a general enquiry to the service provider. It turns out the service provider has a default ‘adult content filter’ and MGTOW.com is deemed by the service provider as an adult content site and is blocked. Some additional browsing showed me that a few ‘informational/independent news’ websites that I would not consider ‘adult content’ are also blocked in this way on the mobile phone. To have the filter turned off a person has to submit photo ID verifying age to the service provider which is fair enough for x rated websites I think. But it is incorrect IMHO for MGTOW.com or other informational websites to be lumped in with x rated websites, but this is what has been done by this service provider. I do not know how they formulated their list. Is this a form of website information censorship or is it an appropriate policy ?

Anyway I subsequently went ahead and submitted my ID so I presume the service provider then has a datalog I am accessing MGTOW.com on my phone. The country I currently live in does not have the crazy hate speech laws that have been introduced in the UK but if such laws were introduced I wonder are mobile service providers obliged to release customer browsing history data and website comments if there was a complaint about a comment on MGTOW.com ? I dont use my phone to make comments – am I being overly cautious ?

(My internet data provider for my PC has none of my personal ID details so that question does not arise.)

The hell? What kind of mobile service provider do you have that blocks adult content? And are underage people allowed to buy plans in your country? The whole ID requirement thing just for that purpose sounds sketchy to me.

You may have an adult content default setting that can be adjusted.

Talk about censorship of speech. Yet fakebook is on every teenagers smartphone with alot of adult content such as motor bike crashes with people being dismembered, industrial accidents gone wrong, fights, instafame models and f~~~ knows what else, not to mention the word wars going on in the comment sections because of difference of opinion.

Where is this being done?
Are there ANY other providers there that won’t pull this crap on you?
A possible technique would be to call your current provider from a friend’s phone or public phone or yours with your number blocked, and ask ‘as a potential new customer’ if they block mgtow. Oftentimes, once they’ve got you, they assume the inertia momentum is in their favor for you to not change providers. hope this helps.

Thanks very much for the suggestions about using VPN on the mobile phone and ringing the service provider as a potential new customer sounds like a good idea too.

Get a VPN. You should not be using a phone without a VPN anyway.
