I was intrigued by the premise. So I took the chance to get it. I could not put it down. I’ve been trying to get in touch with the author, but he (it has to be a he who wrote this) is a ghost. Anyway, everyone needs to check this book out. The idea is that in the future, all men are required to be treated on their 13th birthday. Those who refuse are put to sleep. Some of them escape to live dangerously as nomads outside the society. Inside the society, everyone has fairies, which are floating robots assigned to every citizen through which all communication goest through. I saw the fairy as a metaphor for the internet, smartphones. All speech is censored. Nobody hears anything that could potentially offend them.

I probably shouldn’t give the whole thing away. Check it out for yourself. I think society is really headed in that direction.
