Alleged rape in 2013 goes to court in 2018 and predictably fails due to lack of sufficient evidence, so the c~~~ turns to the civil courts (lower standard of “proof” namely balance of probability as opposed to beyond reasonable doubt) and wins, the man who was cleared by a criminal court of wrongdoing is now being forced to pay the c~~~ £80,000, and of course as usual he is named and pictured while she retains full anonymity.

Why was this case even heard in the civil courts? rape is a crime, not a civil matter, doubly so after already being heard in the criminal courts where the man was found innocent of the charge.

Yet one more reason to walk the f~~~ away.

Is there no such thing as Double-Jeopardy in that country? Yikes! And when can the civil court overturn the judgement of a higher court (assuming criminal is higher than civil)? I mean, I’m no lawyer, but it sounds kind of ‘cash-cowish’ if you ask me. And why has no one caught on to this trend, or called it out for what it is?
