Metals manipulation.

For you guys that believe gold/silver will be the “new” money; can you tell me how that is going to work? I mean when you walk into a seven-11 and buy a coke and some chips, just what do you plan on plunking down to pay with? Silver? Gold? And how will they make change?

I have my own answer to this. Say I have $1800 dollars to spend–I can buy 100 oz of silver OR I buy 1800 cans of food. Now when this “cataclysmal event” occurs that erases money except for hard specie I can have the 100 oz of silver or the 1800 cans of food. If I have the silver I can buy food but at what cost? If I have the 1800 cans of food I can tell you the cost—1 oz silver per can FOR SALE! So my $1800 investment can ultimately yield 100 cans of food OR 1800 oz of silver.

So you guys stockpiling metals keep guys like me —stock pilling food, in mind I’m sure we can work out a deal.

Sorry I was transposing my own situation as a poor person I must CHOOSE among alternatives and the metal come last. HA HA.

Here’s a good tip. I’ve given this a lot of thought, besides PM’s and food water, stock up on instant coffee. People love their coffee and may very well trade for it.
Also, smokers will want their nicotine. Cig’s will go stale or not be available. E-Cigs are a good substitute. Juice as well as devices. Juice can store in bottles for a long time. Who knows what smokers will pay for a fix.

Thinking along these lines, there must be more items or in-demand substitutes.

Also, buy bullet primers, they will be hard to find. Powders, Cases and Projectile’s not so rare. Maybe a good portable handpress and some common dies. Even if you don’t hand load the components will have value.

Everything depends on the degree of SHTF, maybe all we need is some currency, next level PM’s, after that maybe food/water and then finally ammo.
I hope it doesn’t go past the currency level, because then it will get painful for all of us.
