I have a theory about that: from the beginning, women synced their periods so they were all available for mating when a man came by. None would be left out of the chance of mating because her schedule was different than that of the other women, thus having a bigger chance of being chosen by, and carrying the offspring of, the male.

Thoughts?

So whenever Chad from a rogue marauding band showed up on schedule. The women slipped away for the day to gather “berries” so they could all get knocked up by the same “he-man”. The band’s betas thought it was theirs after they got pity f~~~ed 2 weeks later to ensure it was Chad’s sperm that did the trick.
