More like….. the first 10K are the “veterans”. You helped build the place and brought LIFE into it. So as new and cool features are added, we will extend them to you first. You will be upgraded to “ghost” members automatically (one level above “guest”). Ghost members will be have unlimited private messaging, unlimited favorites, local upload image capabilities, access to live chat, and things like that….

Once we reached 10K, we place a “cap” on being auto-approved for forums participation. We just didn’t have the resources to keep it wide open for everyone and we can’t let anyone crash the live chat either.

Ghost is for you guys who CARE. You emailed us when things went wrong, alerted us to a questionable presence in the forums, notified us when the site went down, used the Genie buttons properly, and punted t~~~s when it was necessary.

There are a surprising number of GREAT members in the last 3000 too (and we will bump them up too) but the first 10K are “heart” of MGTOW.COM and your participation elevated it into the phenomenon that it has become.

I think it’s fair to wager you can multiply 13K by 4. This is based on the known youtube authors — where not even one in 4 are active members here. They are “doing their thing” over there and that keeps them plenty busy.

I would also add… the “veterans” range will expand over time as more members arrive. When we have 18K the first 12-13K will be the more established ones by that time. At 25 K, the first 15K etc…. The 10K cap just HAD to be limited because of the many the free-for-all hotheads who treated it like a toy instead of a tool.

On Oct 22, the member system was completely overhauled for this purpose. And we KNOW that locking everyone out until you changed your passwords (to “strong”) was a major annoyance and like putting up a wall, but nobody complained. Just threw me against the wall.
