Well Columbia seems to be actively helping Paul’s case against Columbia.

Emma Sulkowicz, the Columbia University student who has carried a mattress around campus as part of an art project for the past year, has graduated. And she carried that mattress across the stage during the ceremony — to much applause.

Paul Nungesser, the man she accused of raping her, and who was cleared by a campus hearing and the police, was forced to watch, having walked across the stage just a few minutes earlier.

On Monday, Columbia circulated an email banning students from bringing large objects to graduation.

Good, I hope he takes them to the cleaners, this was yet another clear violation of campus policy and yet again no action was taken against Sulkowicz.

One other positive, by publicly continuing with this vindictive stunt long after her victim’s innocence has been established and he has been been cleared of any wrongdoing by both campus authorities and the police Emma Sulkowicz has surely damaged her own reputation beyond repair and severely limited her future employment options. Personally I would neither employ her nor work at any firm where she was employed.

An out of court settlement for undisclosed amount… specifically excluding any wrong doing by the university…

When I was much younger and still in school, I had a professor who was teaching here in the US, but was a British citizen.  Hearing about the way things worked in another country by someone who’d lived it was more interesting than reading about it ever could be.  One of the things he explained was a concept referred to as “MP”.

Now the only thing I’d ever heard “MP” used for in the US was as an abbreviation for Military Police.  But the professor explained that there is a very old and no longer used concept in British law called “Majesty’s Pleasure”.  I’d never heard of this and thought it sounded a little x-rated, so I listened intently with my 20 something year old, hormone charged brain.  I thought I might learn something about some kinky stuff the royals were into…

As it turns out, “Majesty’s Pleasure” refers to a criminal charge under English Law that could be levied against an individual that carried the same weight as a federal felony carries in the United States today.  The individual would be arrested, charged and jailed under the charge of “Majesty’s Pleasure” or “MP”.  What this charge actually means for you if you are the accused is that your incarceration occurs, literally because, “IT PLEASES HIS MAJESTY THAT YOU BE INCARCERATED…”.

Yeah, you read that correctly.

As an English subject of past centuries, it was essentially your obligation to accept incarceration if the king ever declared that it would “please his majesty” that you be incarcerated.  Now, you could have a trial to try to defend yourself.  You did have that due process.  But if at the trial the prosecution presented a document signed by the king saying that he “would be pleased” for you to be incarcerated, then the only legitimate defense you could have is to have another document dated at a later time and signed by the same king stating that he would “no longer be pleased” that you be incarcerated.  If you were not available to be present at trial, you could be tried an absentia and then jailed later when you were located.  If it were a queen on the throne, same rule applied.  So, among people charged with “MP”, the conviction rate was 100%.  You remained guilty as charged until the king changed his mind about what pleased him and declared you no longer guilty as charged… resulting in a one day-to life sentence.  No evidence other than the claim.  No right to face your accuser.  No right to appeal.  Nothing specified in writing what did, or did not constitute this crime… so no chance to avoid it even if you were committed and determined to avoid it.  Guilty on accusation and guilty until proven innocent… but guilty BY ACCUSATION so remaining guilty until the withdrawal of accusation.

The king was not required to inform anyone in advance of what did, or did not please him.  Acts that might please him one day might displease him the following day.  The first indication you would have that you had displeased the king/queen would be the armed men who showed up at your door with shackles and a warrant…leaving you with only the option of incarceration as a means of ‘pleasing his majesty’ again.

Clearly, this is the rule of a tyrant.  It is a classic hallmark of a tyrant that no matter how much power they get, they will constantly seek more and more power until their power is absolute, and then continuously abuse that power in order to reassure everyone (mostly themselves) that they in fact do have it.  Ironically, this is what usually inspires people to take it from them, as every rational person in the world agrees that this is completely screwed.  So, not surprisingly, a bunch of well armed bad asses on the east coast revolted and successfully fought a decade long revolutionary war to overthrow the rule of that tyrannical ass who tried to impose laws like that on them.  No one remembers the tyrant much, but portraits of those armed bad asses are carried to this day in the pockets and wallets of all the people who were subsequently freed by their successful revolt.

What does any of this have to do with mattress girl?

Well, a woman married or single may pick up the phone any time and make a call that will result in armed men with shackles appearing at the door of any man she names.  She can make a claim of her own manufacture, with zero supporting evidence, and zero advance notification to the man she names, and based on that claim (and nothing else) that man will be arrested and jailed immediately if present, and a warrant issued if he is not.  What constitutes a basis for ‘the claim’ can change from one night to the next morning, also without advance notice or consistent specification.  Once ‘the claim’ is made, he will kept in jail until he can pay his own ransom to the government (aka crown) for a temporary release until such time that he will be required to appear in court to try to defend himself against ‘the claim’.  (Feminists have already stated that any women making a rape claim should be taken at their word because ‘women don’t lie about rape’.).

His accuser can remain blissfully anonymous.  His name will be shouted from the rooftops in such a way as to echo ‘the claim’ against his name forever, regardless of wether he succeeds in refuting ‘the claim’ or not.  If the claim is shown to be false, his ransom will be returned to him.  The rest of the cost to his life, career, reputation, finances… will not.

She will incur ZERO cost for having made ‘the claim’.

The comparisons here between a rape/domestic violence claim and a “MP” claim are not perfect… yet.

I don’t consider myself an alarmist, a conspiracy theorist or a tin foil hat wearer.  But there are some ominous similarities between the power that feminists want, and what the British Crown once had.  And while feminists have not yet succeeded at achieving everything they want, they are also not yet satisfied, and are still making progress.   However much further they will push, and however much progress they will make, we do seem to have already arrived at the place where a woman making a false rape claim that has been shown to be false, can publicly flaunt her ability to have abused that power, can have zero consequences to herself for having made it… and be openly cheered for having done so.

One of the most depressing things is that the story of her false accusation is not getting main stream media traction. It’s mentioned here and there but there has been no huge public outcry even after the facts are known.

Interestingly one of the problems she had with her judges were that they thought you couldn’t have anal sex without any lube.

Now you have to give it to her there, this is clearly a girl that learned one thing in college, you certainly can take it up the ass without any lube.
