I started my teacher education in 2009, when this was started. It was obvious that this system was going to be s~~~. All the professional teachers I worked with in my internship process thought it was s~~~ but kept silent for fear of losing their jobs. One of my homework assignments was to write a paper about how good the Common Core system was. Yes, it was like eating a s~~~ sandwich. Once I was in the school districts, and using this in my own classroom, I realized how bad this was, and I attempted to work around the common core as a response to parents concerns.

I had to teach according to the methods prescribed by the common core committee, things that made little sense to me, confused parents, and ill served the children. The testing followed the common core bulls~~~, in order to be valid.

A huge pile of your tax dollars for the past 8 years was p~~~ed away, for little or no gain.

Part of the reason why I don’t want to go back to the classroom.

The purpose of school is to ensure not only the the children not be educated, but that they will never be able to be educated, if someone tries to teach them anything real. The idea never was about education.

Some of the ways I had to teach kids would blow your mind. For the math, it wasn’t enough to be able to get the right answer, you had to explain the steps. At the same time, you were rewarded for knowing how to set up a math problem, but you could get the problem wrong, and still get partial credit. I had a class hour with other teachers kids, playing math games for 20 minutes, then tell then to switch to another game. No writing out math facts, no reading out loud, and no spelling tests. But we could throw a ball around the room defining words stuck on the walls.

I’ve always said, they don’t teach curriculum in schools anymore. Many of my friends that work in education agree. First, we teach them bulls~~~ in school, then we feed them bulls~~~ on TV. What’s wrong with America’s youth? Hmmm. I don’t know. Maybe it’s their diet?

Education needs to be controlled locally. Then to get people other then hard core leftist to run for local education boards.

I have a degree in business, but I could not grasp the stupidity of common core math. 10-5=5. I simply know that to be a fact, but common core makes rational thought a thing of the past.

The education system we have had is a 500-year old archaic, cookie cutter system designed to crank out salary slaves. Everything you needed to know for your life you knew by 7th grade. Middle school, high school and University are systems of indoctrination that will happily take all of your (actually taxpayer) money and fill our heads with useless bulls~~~ like Lesbian Dance Theory or how feelings > logic.

Common Core was the change to that archaic system, but it was designed around the idea that we can’t bring the bottom up (Because Statists love keep us all in our place) so we’ll bring the top down. The whole thing is gonna fall flat on its face in about 10-15 years and the iGen (Gen Z) can’t perform simple equations. And to think, they want to start colonizing space… XD
