Marketing books and music

Do any of you have any ideas on marketing self published novels and music? I’d like to advertise the book I wrote a couple of years ago and see what kind of response it gets. I tried Facebook with limited success, but I’m interested in other forms of advertising as well. Any suggestions?

I forget what it’s called but I know theirs something you can pay for that will have you’re book appear higher up in searches online for a reasonable fee of like 5-10$ monthly.

As far as advertising I’d rely on social media unless you have the money to research and hire major advertisers. Maybe have some book clubs and talk about your book. Or share books with other authors and network that way.
