Man Sets Himself on Fire in Latest Facebook Live Suicide

I’m not supporting this man’s actions in the slightest – he
obviously had some deep seated psychological problems and frankly no woman is worth self-immolation (unless, perhaps, you were saving your daughter from a fire etc.). What interested me in the article was the fact that the woman was seen as the “victim” of this tragedy becuase she witnessed the event and lost some audio equipment. No one gave a f**k that the man was in so much mental pain that he chose to kill himself, nor had any curiosity as to how he reached that point.

A choice quote: “The community raised more than $18,000 for the woman so she could attend trauma therapy and replace her audio equipment — which was damaged in the fire.”

I think if the genders were reversed the community would instead be raising funds to pay for her funeral, starting some kind of public charity to prevent suicide among women and the story would make national headlines.

Lastly, the man would be blamed for somehow being responsible and to stop being a pussy about the trauma and losing his audio equipment.

This is really becoming common. People killing themselves live on social media. I don’t know how to stop it, but it would seem that they feel so sorry for themselves that they want audience to witness their last moments. Facebook has been in hot water for not doing more to be alerted when people are doing this, but how can you possibly monitor everyone. This is the same thing last year, when those black kids beat up and tortured that special needs kid for multiple days. Sick people in this world.

But people don’t know what he was going through, so we can’t speculate much.
