My fitness walks often take me to a coffee house nearby, which, this time of year, has an active patio. It’s fine spring day, and I see a grandma from the neighborhood who has been befriended by a 2-3 year-old girl whose mother is a few tables away. Grandma is reading a children’s book to her, and all is well. I stop by grandma on the way out and chat a bit, and comment on the book. Mom, suddenly, and as quickly as is socially acceptable, dashes over a collects the little girl.

Strange grandma is OK. Strange grandpa, who admittedly doesn’t shave on his days off, is a pervert.

When I heard this, my first reaction was to get angry. But then I realized: if I were a man, I wouldn’t want to sit next to a kid anyway. I hate kids!

Why would I complain? What’s the best case scenario? I get to sit by a kid? That seems a bit silly.

I don’t care to have anything to do with kids either.

You have to be very careful what you do when they are around. Anything could be used to accuse you of some misconduct towards them. Don’t even point a camera in their general direction.

Some guy in Alberta was accused on social media by two 12 year old girls of filming them in a restaurant because he had his cellphone up. Now everyone thinks he’s a pedophile and treats him accordingly. His life is ruined.

The two girls didn’t even get a slap on the wrist for what they did.

I agree as a single MGHOW to avoid children as much as possible. It’s very easy to become a victim of circumstances in a moment.
