Looks like Canada is screwed. why are canadians borrowing so much money with little income? The americans seem to be better at managing household finances

Canada is in recession, we are doubling down with our new PM and spending even more and according to J T the budget will balance itself. The CAD currencies has plummeted partially do to oil price, but it goes much deeper than that. There is a bit of a snowball effect going on with the private investment spending and lack of investment in projects like the pipelines that have all been canceled and new bills being brought in by the new government we have.

I’m sure that they’ll do a study that will find that it’s because the average Canadian is more optimistic about the future than American counterparts. They expect things to return to the way they were so “What’s a little debt?”

Look for the carousel to speed up and get more occupied as men’s financial futures looking bleak causes more women to exit stage right on their marriages.

With their savior Justin at the wheel they are just waiting for the support programs to get tweaked enough to ditch the simp with all of the new debt and not suffer too many repercussions.

Some of the debts got paid off, but a lot are also charged off…. forecloselures, over a million bankruptcies a year, and tightening credit. We have been deleveraging since 2006.

The financial debt increase started with Ontario’s liberal governments of McGuinty and now Wynne.

Ontario is the main toilet drain of debt that will drag the rest of the country down with it. Now with little prince JT at the helm… it will be a fast slide deeper.

I recently read a posting/article that mentioned that Canadians took on a huge amount of debt to buy property in places like Arizona. Taking their “windfall” from the runup in property prices in Canada, and then borrowing more on top of it to “invest.”

Trouble is, now they have to pay that money back in US dollars which are now worth like 1/3 more than they used to be. Plus interest (also in $USD).
