The thing that gets me about this attack is how easy it was to carry out. It was certainly a reprisal against the capture of one of their ring leaders and was carried out within days of his capture and despite tight security. This shows us 3 things.

Firstly there are a sizable number of jihadis in Europe who are ready and willing to rock and roll at a moments notice. The head of Europol estimates up to 5000 jihadis have entered Europe already.

I think this is partly true. But I think the attacks were in the pipeline for a while. The fact someone with so much knowledge was captured, and possibly made to talk, just sped up the plans.
This will be common through Europe now. I believe Berlin is a prime target. Lets hope they can stop it.

This event might help people to realize that airport security checkpoints don’t protect you from s~~~, and are there for two reasons: make money, condition you to submit to authority for a reward of flying – pavlovian training.

If you are a terrorist – the best place to strike – is not on a plane, but in the crowd of people waiting at a security checkpoint.

I think you are undoubtably correct, some sort of attack was probably being planned but I doubt it was this attack. Both targets were very soft, public spaces where many people are to be found in an enclosed space. I think they were just chosen as targets of convenience while the actual planned attack has probably been s~~~ canned.

No, I take no punching bag, BigBoss. You did get caught in the cross hair tho and your “euRape” made me blow my top on this sad day here in Belgium, whether warranted or not. Not your fault but mine.
Then I could not give blood because of high blood pressure so my whole day was eerie. I just see red when I know of such cowardly acts committed by manipulated assholes no matter where they happen.
