My sister is going to inherit a ridiculous amount of money from a relative and I get jack squat.

    I cant take anything seriously.

Had such a s~~~tier living standard compared to my sister with perfect health.

Im going to listen to some Epictetus to get my mind straight.

“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.”

At times like that only Charles Bukowski cheers me up (in a dark sorta way).

Sorry to hear that lottery, I’m guessing your sister doesn’t give a s~~~ about anyone but herself? Is that what’s really bugging you? Seeing a selfish person get spoiled beyond excess and have an ungrateful attitude about everything?
Why aren’t the rose peddles laid out in front of her as she walks?

Given everything and appreciating nothing, AWALT, ELO (every last one).

The guy is a conservative my sister thinks conservatives are idiots and she’s talked to him like twice. I spend time reading, learning, and exercising while she sits on social media all day and does jack s~~~ but seek attention. Thats why Im p~~~ed.

Keep doing what your doing for years to come and you’ll see who has the true riches 10 years down the road, your capacity to thrive will far out pace her ability to leach resources as her body begins to deteriorate and bloat just like a leach. She’ll squander the money as she has no appreciation for it’s actual worth. She’ll be broke soon enough…

10 years, a flash in the pan!

I have no sympathy for lazy gluttonous people that waddle instead of walk.

Tape up the piehole, drop the smart phone, and get cracking, it only takes 10 years to look like a pear with arms and legs.

No f~~~ing way would I be winching a sausage fingered blimp up a whale ramp so she can get to the refrigerator.

Yep, that’s the way the world is. Men get s~~~ on. Try to put it out of your mind, man. It won’t do any good to focus on in it. I’m sure she’ll blow it very soon.

Look at this way. It is likely your sister will run through that money quickly. Very few people in this day and age are taught how to save money and spend money wisely. And when she is broke, she will likely come to you for help. At which point you can tell that since she did not share any of that wealth with you, she can help herself. And then you shut the door on her.

At the end of the day money is just paper. She might get a few meaningful vacations from the money she is given. Along with some nice dinners. But, that is it. And when she burns that money up, she will regret how she had squandered her inheritance.

You are doing the right thing. You are not trying to be jealous. You are not trying to think cruel thoughts. You are trying to move on from this injustice. This shows you have a better soul than most people.

It could be a s~~~ ton and a house which she is just going to sell. She wants to permanently live in California out of all states.

Im doing my best to not care. I really deep down dont give a rats ass about money but I could be set off that for life. Thats freedom not money.

I get something out of everything though. Im going to take more risks in my lifetime because if something that has that much power can be gained by simple luck and no work. No thanks. Ill live for other things.

California. Let me guess. On the coast. If that is the case. With high cost of living there. She will burn through that money within three to five years.

    Thanks man

    You’re welcome. And good luck.

I agree, life is a joke. Laugh. Laugh at the absurdities and stupidity in the world.

We don’t need to take a side in every political/social/religious conflict in the world. We just need to laugh. Encyclopedia Dramatica taught me that.

Let us get together as men and laugh at the unfairness. If we take this s~~~ too seriously (like some r/mensrights users do) then the feminists will just make us upset.

Getting mad on the internet is the opposite of winning on the internet.

Hey, Lottery. I agree that it sucks. There’s a few lucky people in the world who are living the good life while the rest of us have to work. Consider this: when you gain your wealth with hard work and learning new skills, you will be rich in character. Those that get stuff for free sometimes take it for granted, and they end up losing their blessings by their own irresponsible behavior. You may lose all your material assets, but no one can take away your knowledge, your character traits, and your determination to reach your goals.

On a site note: Imagine if you invested some money in a company like Amazon 20 years ago. You’d have a nice nest egg today! Let’s keep our eyes open for opportunities to invest in companies that will be profitable in the future. If you were to buy stocks in the top 100 U.S. corporations for the next 20 years, I’m pretty sure you’ll make a decent profit.

I’m doing what I can with what I have. I have a 401(k) plan with my company. I don’t make that much money, so I invest a small fraction of my paycheck (and it’s tax-deferred, so it’s easier for me to contribute). I’m going to pay off some of my debts this year so I’ll be able to save more money next year. Eventually, I’d like to buy a small house on a large lot, build another house, and rent it. That way, I’ll have money from my job and from a renter. I may be at the bottom right now, but I’m taking small steps to rise out of poverty. Someday I hope to retire with a nice pension and some rental property.

"I saw that there comes a point, in the defeat of any man of virtue, when his own consent is needed for evil to win-and that no manner of injury done to him by others can succeed if he chooses to withhold his consent. I saw that I could put an end to your outrages by pronouncing a single word in my mind. I pronounced it. The word was ‘No.’" (Atlas Shrugged)
