So I am here today at the Civil War renactment.

I have been going to these things for the last 20 years.

This one and for the last few years have been terrible.

No, not the quality, they do a great job. It is the amount of renactors here.

Previously, this one would have had 100 to 150 men in uniform. Today, 50 tops.

People just don’t have the excess money to travel, outfit themselves, etc.

If people don’t have the money for hobbies what does that mean for the future of our economy.

    Just a thought.

My Sister told me of an annual horse show they attend. Attendance was WAY down this year. They are mothballing locomotives now as US rail traffic is down 16%.

We just had two long term restaurants >15 years on one and >25 years on the other go belly up just in the past two weeks.

Even though my gross revenue is up 20% over this time last year, I’m in worse shape due to overall price increases.

I’d wager that these cutbacks don’t get noticed or tracked.

I used to farm out things to guys like yard work or basic carpentry jobs to enable me to enjoy my free time and help them. That no longer happens as I do it myself now therefore all free time is spent on my domestic issues.

I just finished another major round of budget slashing just to keep up with the rising food costs.

One thing I noticed about those closing restaurants is that they would raise their prices just before closing further exacerbating their death spiral.

I just picked up a very nice rib eye steak at Publix for $7.25 Total cost of my steak dinner tonight and trimmings will be under $9. Compare that to spending $35 dollars at a restaurant. I’ve also noticed that the restaurants are now using lower grades of beef than what I can buy at a grocery store. It used to be the exact opposite.

Hope and change you gotta luv it, but only if you are a Bankster.

Not sure if it’s just the cost, Jan. I think people everywhere are pulling back from society for other reasons in addition to money. You have the SJWs taking the fun out of anything you do, you have govt bureaucrat assholes taking the fun out of anything you do, you have companies and idiotic groups pushing their social agendas everywhere you go and making things suck. Hell, I’m surprised they haven’t insisted on a prescribed “gender diversified mix of soldiers” in your reenactment.

Another one of the reasons I don’t get involved with anything at all socially anymore is the headache and crowds and rude people – even if there are fewer people the rudeness level is way up – and the plasticity of everything you see and do. There is little true fun in US society anymore. For a good time, I leave the country and go to places where there are far fewer chain-anythings and a lot more humor.

If you are MGTOW when you are young you have no heart.
If you're not MGTOW when you are 20 you have no brain.

I agree with all three, Jan, CP, and MOWsince95. I quit going to restaurants, movie theaters, and shopping malls because of a combination of high prices and the rude jerks that fill them.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

the cost of just getting by, food prices, property price bubbles, people just have less and less for fun things. its a shame. ps ive always thought civil war reenactments were cool and fun to watch.
