A retired Navy SEAL Team 6 hero who is transgender had a message for President Donald Trump after he announced the US military would bar transgender people from serving.

“Let’s meet face to face and you tell me I’m not worthy,” Kristin Beck, a 20-year veteran of the Navy SEALs, told Business Insider on Wednesday. “Transgender doesn’t matter. Do your service.”

Beck said Trump’s abrupt change in policy could negatively affect many currently or wanting to serve in the military. The RAND Corporation estimated in 2016 that there were between 1,320 and 6,630 transgender people serving. Many of them just want to serve their country like everyone else, Beck said.

“Being transgender doesn’t affect anyone else,” Beck said. “We are liberty’s light. If you can’t defend that for everyone that’s an American citizen, that’s not right.”

Beck is not just your average service member. Born Christopher Beck, she served for 20 years in the Navy with SEAL Teams 1, 5, and, eventually, the elite 6. She deployed 13 times over two decades, including stints in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. She received the Bronze Star award for valor and the Purple Heart for wounds suffered in combat.

“I was defending individual liberty,” she said. “I defended for Republicans. I defended for Democrats. I defended for everyone.”

In a series of tweets, Trump said the decision was based on the costs of medical services that transgender service members could use. But “the money is negligible,” Beck said. “You’re talking about .000001% of the military budget.

“They care more about the airplane or the tank than they care about people,” Beck said. “They don’t care about people. They don’t care about human beings.”

These people are f~~~ing sick and need professional psychological help man. Who is born a man and then wakes up one morning and decides they want to be a woman. We are living amongst fools.

Comes out as tranny in 2013 – long AFTER.

Shim wasn’t tranny in the military just like Bruce Gender (not Caitlyn Jenner) wasn’t a tranny when he won and collected an Olympic medal for being “the fastest man in the world”.

A few decades later, shim collected a medal for “courage” after putting on a dress? Funny how that works.

If you just look at it from the medical costs issue Trump is right. Anyone who they know will be burden to the military due to medical issues can be turned down. I’m not sure though how they can make that argument against someone who’s already ‘switched’.

Medical and psychiatric for the trans, but also psychiatric for the entire family as well. A big issue is how the human body reacts once the gender transition is initiated … Cancer, Hormonal treatment, stress, etc.

Most average media consumers will see the drive-by version of this story and assume it’s a current, active duty seal that’s a tranny.

I was not a SEAL, but I do know that there is a form of “excommunication” in the SOF community. Surely this thing has been disavowed, it’s designed for exactly this kind if s~~~.

It’s my understanding, and seems rather logical, that you’ll need continual hormonal treatments since your body won’t produce the hormone levels your new gender generally requires.

From what I’ve seen people are defending the cost by claiming that the government spends more on Viagra then it does on trans operations and treatment. But apparently, ED is a common side effect of PTSD.

Whatever, the objective of the military is not to be inclusive, but to provide the manpower and such necessary. If inclusion of a tranny into a combat unit means that the combat unit is less effective, then the tranny needs to go. How is that not understandable?

The same goes for my grandmother. She may really want to go join the army, but her inclusion doesn’t make the military more effective, thus she’s out. So am I, as I’m too old.

Slightly separate issue, I find it interesting that transsexual is considered a gender, but a man or woman isn’t considered a transsexual until after they’ve had medical treatments and such. I understand that it’s mental, in that the brain says ‘man’ and the body says ‘woman’ (or vice versa) yet we have Jenner and this Beck person who show that a person can be successful as the physical gender they were born with.

Oh, and I love how people claim it’s not a mental illness. If a man claims he’s a chicken, we call that mental illness. We don’t schedule a surgery to give him feathers and a beak. Yes, it sucks that he feels that way, but we don’t start treating him like a chicken in order to make him feel better, do we?

It’s not a perfect analogy, I know.
