F~~~ing hell I knew the reboot was looking like a Last of Us clone and really bad but it now turns out that the annoying kid in the game isn’t even Kratos’s son!

He is looking after another man’s spawn – so now Kratos goes from f~~~ing everyone up to being a beta, cucked husband….sums up modern Western gaming. Plus the combat looks TERRIBLE

The market does not work that way.

This is like the car industry over a decade deciding they will all produce crappy cars and tell the people they can take it or leave it. Well, the people left and the car industry tanked.

All the fools are doing is driving people to look for other games in other markets. Such as the Eastern European middle age game Deliverance.

Also, the very basic zombie killer/PVP game Fortnite is doing well.

I don’t think so, he probably look after the kid by choice. Why? He pretty much destroyed every gods & monsters he came across. I would argue there are no societal pressure on him. Plus he teach the little spawn hunting.

The axe looks boring compared to his previous Blades of Chaos. The God of War games on PS3 were by far my favorite games.

They better not f~~~ this up. I’d have to say one of my favorite parts on God of War was when he ripped Helios’ head off and used it as a flashlight. So bloody and violent, I love it.

Thought I would play some of the older games considering the new one is coming out and I haven’t played a GOW game in ages

Put on Ascension which is massively underrated imo – the first thing that struck me is how Kratos is “the man”….f~~~ing hell he doesn’t take s~~~ as you destroy everything. Gave me the chills when I was ripping a couple of Juggernauts apart

characters like Kratos have been taken away from us men – blokes who just ooze testosterone and f~~~ things up – just like Arnie did in his classic films. Before fake girl geeks and their cuck slaves ruined all forms of entertainment.

Glad I dug it out and will go through the entire GOW series now – GOW 3 is probably my favourite and those boss battles are up there as the best in all gaming in my opinion

Great topic Jim. It’s good to know there are some other fans of the GOW series, well the older games anyway. I also like Ascension, it is unique from the others. GOW 3 is also my favorite of the series. The weapons are so amazing. The nemean cestus gloves from defeating Hercules are my favorite. They are slow but the raw power and the sound they generate is just awesome.

This s~~~ remembers me from Resident Evil 4…
The best parts of the game where when the f~~~ed up bitch went away.
It’s like “let’s evolve this game, now you are not only killing zombies, you will baby sit too”.
This god of war is “let’s evolve this game, let’s make it less brutal, less manly, let’s make you be a cuck, have a nagging follower that you have to babysit”

I remember god of war, the first one, 5 minutes between you start the game and you have an epic fight with the hydra, that was like from 0 to 200km/hour in 10 seconds. They can f~~~ these new games as much as they want, the only thing that will happen is that people will download illegal copies of old games and play it on emulators.

Is cheap, is accessible, is better than the actual games and it run in a modest hardware. I won’t buy any new video game if it isn’t BETTER than the old ones.

Wouldn’t necessarily be a terrible thing if it were actually a good change, but that seems extremely doubtful. And the pandering to feminists is pretty blatant. Come to think of it, isn’t this the series that was criticized for having a hidden sex mini game?

it was a game meant for men to enjoy – adrenaline fuelled violence. Of course that needs to stop now wimminz are forcing their way into the industry along with their betas in the media

But playing Ascension again over the weekend – the combat is absolutely seamless. You can put together massively satisfying combos and brutally take down waves of enemies. All this reboot needed was a lick of paint and used the old style gameplay – a GOW hasn’t come out for years so it would have been fresh again

Instead we get a parenting sim with tiresome Dark Souls combat

Played this for a good amount of hours over the weekend

I can see why the gaming press are all over it because they think the game is grown up…it isn’t! If it was a job sim and about having to take the kid to school then it would be “grown up”…the kid is just an annoying companion who never shuts up and leads to boring cutscenes around shooting arrows at animals

Plus I wish they had the original voice actor for Kratos – it is Christopher Judge so Teal’c is the main character! Why I hate real life actors as game voiceovers

on the gaming front – it is a million miles away from the original GOW games but it isn’t bad at all. I switched up the difficulty so every fight is an effort when if you f~~~ up then you die over and over – that option wouldn’t appeal to everyone but it improves the whole thing for me. The combat is still as shallow as before but is now ten times slower – zero adrenaline rushes from this game

There is a lot of boring padding (like collecting herbs and s~~~ like that) which is designed to lengthen the game and plenty of sections where you are just walking calling out “BOY” and they are rubbish

Also there is zero context to what you are doing – I hate that in a game and want some sort of mission. All this is about is taking some ashes to the top of a mountain so nothing you do feels important…just think of the opening of GOW 3 and that epic battle sets up the entire game. This starts with a boring funeral and hasn’t picked up any pace since and I’m about 10 hours in

all in all – it is a good game but just not proper GOW game. Massively overhyped but it is a game I will play to the end and enjoy it

if anyone is on the fence about getting it then I recommend waiting for the sales in a few months

the game actually gets a lot better once you reach the River of Nines (or whatever it is called) – bit more freedom and you start levelling up Kratos. Still doesn’t feel like a GOW game but is enjoyable none the less
