just have to take this chance to give a round of much deserved applause to the men who make this place . BRILLIANT.
i know creating new topics puts a bit of a burden on the capabilities of the site, but THREE CHEERS for these guys ! .
the new font style is even better,and as long as i can have the ” latest topics ” option,i’m a happy camper .
this looks TIGHT ! ( in a good way ) ! easier on the eyes,and really slick..as usual but better …
looking forward to seeing all of what’s been going on tech wise,i was amazed when i found the site and it keeps improving..

I was just watching Jack Nicholson getting honored at the Kennedy Center (on youtube) when your message came in. I was honored to receive it. We thought you (especially) would be somewhat disappointed while we’re rearranging a bit….. since we had to temporarily remove the animated rotator at the top. You once said it was your favorite part of the forums. But it was dragging the speed of the forums down to a crawl in recent days, so we trimmed the fat for now.

Relieved the forums are performing well now but I couldn’t stand to look at the ugly/ bare replacement so I’m happy you like what we have so far. Everyone’s favorite features will be back , we just have to let it run for a bit before we can continue.

• “Squares” forums index page with “male only” switch
• Sidebar
• Animated rotator
• Quicklinks
• Random posters
• Mark-as-Read indicators
• The report Genie
• “Last 10” Topics and replies

…. etc… all coming back. Private messaging and “who’s online now” are now part of the site after a period of testing. We’re not sure about real-time notifications which will alert you with a “ping” when someone responds to your post (or sends you a message) if you’re anywhere else on the site. We’re not MGTOOGLE™ yet.

We also have a new notices feature to broadcast to all (or one) member(s) as soon as you log in.

The day/night switch is something I have wanted for months. 5 themes for the forums with a live switcher. Day. Night. Tron. Metal. Rustic. & StarWars themes are part of the plan – just for fun. I think that will make the forums a lot of fun to use. It even remembers your preference from page to page.

Oh, and PS… the few “pending” posts are currently not auto publishing so until we have that back (tonight?) if your reply or topic doesn’t get published right away, don’t worry, we will publish it for you.

We’ll always be a minority, but the impetus of real change always occurs at the margins.

Australia is quite busy lately and so is the UK and Canada. Mostly Ontario – oddly enough. And Edmonton of all places.

That’s the same look I get from people when I inform of their surroundings, here in B.C.F.C. no s~~~!
Sometimes I get the strangest looks while performing tasks in the name of “taking measures necessary”. The people around here look like a dog when it tilts it’s head in confusion, ya might say I’m light-years ahead of their thinking!!!

We do! Private messaging (one-on-one chat) is turned on for everyone. At the moment it’s limited to 5 messages per day while we are working on speed testing. The group chat is currently off for the same reason.

We have just given you (@hellraider) permission to advance preview it at /chat (now indicated on your profile) so the next time it’s on, we will let you know with an indicator and you can check it out.

We have to turn these on and off and let them run to see where the bottle neck is Like we did with online users today – to see how heavy it is.

The Forums REALLY don’t like “last 10 topics and replies” loading on every page view, so we are working out an alternative for that so you can pull up the latest. Latest topics are flying as expected now.

At the moment, you can quickly check all of the last 100 posts in the side bar too – with live filtering at /recent

Auto-publishing “pending” replies is now on again, but the few pending topics that are sometimes held back by the filter we will take care of manually right now. ( There is a little malfunction with that.)

The “NIGHT” mode is extremely cool.

We have to bring the Gynocentric Bulls~~~ Genie back ASAP too.

It is cool as f~~~, but if it slows things down, I vote to take it down and have a single page that we can load if we want to see who’s online. Just my 2 pennies.
