My usual response to that, when I’ve responded at all, is ‘The only man who ever got your best was the first one. Everything since him has been leftovers…’. Often, it shuts them up for at least a little while. It p~~~es them off enormously every time. The truth of it seems to be what enrages them the most.

Between 15 and 25, I was the beta nice guy who got friend zoned. It happened probably a half dozen times over those yers. Between 25 and 35, just as the wall arrived for them, I graduated medical school and launched a career. EVERY ONE of them circled back around and showed a renewed interest.

I friend zoned them so I could stay in close enough contact to watch the impact. It’s been entertaining.

My office is right next to a large university. When I head to lunch it’s basically undergraduates and graduates as the day is long.

They’re looking for their sugar daddy. This particular school is known for that rep. I stopped wearing my ring years ago because it’s a magnet for women my age of ill repute, mistakenly believing that the sugar babies wouldn’t be bother with me.

However now, most sugar babies will smile and say hi. Once in a while I will get screened like I did the other day.

Chic chats me up and at one point tells me point blank, I’m an businesswoman because I don’t want to work until 65. The guy (my age group) next to us in earshot flashes me a grin of their naïveté. I’m SMH (on the inside) at the hubris of her remark as she’s barely 20, but clearly smart to know what her sexual marketplace value is.

She’s probably got about five years til the Wall starts, as it may not occur to her to take good care of what she’s got in the looks department.
