I just found that on another forum… I had to share but it just shows you how blind some people/society are. I wanted to respond but its not worth my time I guesss.

I am a young woman (26) and I see so many beautiful, intelligent women with men who are absolutely slobs. Beyond physical appearance, men often seem to be incapable of doing even the smallest tasks, to the point where men’s incompetence has become a widely used trope on sitcoms.

And it’s not just a stereotype- studies show that women still do the vast majority of housework, whether they work outside the home or not.

On top of that, married men seem to be extremely entitled and demanding about having sex on a frequent basis, despite not being all that concerned with whether their wife orgasms or not.

Additionally, men love to make jokes about women talking too much and seem to disregard and put down women’s interests, while spending plenty of time and money on their own hobbies and expecting their wive’s to help out with them, like organizing a football watching party

As a bi woman who has made the conscious choice to marry another woman, I just honestly dont understand.

It seems like many times women are desperately unhappy in their marriages, to the point where 70% of women end up filing for divorce.

So it’s pretty proven that marriage is a raw deal for women in particular, and yet they keep walking down the aisle, to near enslavement. Not only that, but they actually get excited about it, and jokes are made about women desperate to drag her man down the alter.

Why? Is it just the cultural endorsement aspect of it- feeling like you have accomplished that culturally prescribed step for success?

I actually don’t have too many issues with her points, she’s just leaving out so much and coming to the wrong conclusion.

Her first point regarding the incompetence of men is somewhat on point. However, the tasks she’s thinking of are most likely tasks most men couldn’t give a crap about. Sure, any monkey can vacuum…but doing her way and as often as she wants it…difficult. My ex hated when I tried to clean the house as she thought it was my way of telling her she’s doing a s~~~ty. Why bother.

And yes, men actually expect to sex from marriage. Yes, we stop caring about your orgasm when it becomes such a chore to do and you tell us that it’s all ok (but you don’t really mean that).

Yes, women divorce most of the time, and are unhappy. And that’s always the husband’s fault for her unhappiness?
