Is it really funny though? I mean, this is your sister you’re talking about. I get the sense of satisfaction when people get what we believe is coming to them, but wouldn’t you prefer that your sister starts ‘getting it’ and starts becoming more and more like a unicorn instead of crashing and burning a few years from now?

I don’t mean to pick on @Fearless, but it is concerning when we seem to get more joy out of other people’s pain and suffering, and for proving ourselves right, than in see people be happy after learning from mistakes or taking wise advice.

And I am not at all saying I am above these thoughts, as I certainly feel them from time to time regarding my ex.

The schadenfreude and entertaining aspect of The Wall™ is not for a loving wife who bears a groom’s children simply because she aged over time.

For me, it’s nature’s payback for when I was 12, and I asked my crush (since I was 5) to dance. GOD, I was in love with her. She was a “Jenny” to my Forest Gump. Exactly like that. I crossed the hall, and “Stairway to Heaven” was the last song of the night. She saw me approaching and one of her friends said “JENNY!!! YOU HAVE A TELEPHONE CALL!!! IT’S YOUR DAD!!” and she ran off.

Another girl in the class enjoyed telling me she didn’t really have a telephone call. I kinda knew that already, but she made a point of enjoying the moment. At 12, baby women are already behaving like they are “too good to dance with you”… and instead of saying “no thanks” they would all get together and plot some elaborate pre-agreed-upon scheme to avoid 8 minutes of dancing with a boy who likes her.

I saw that bitch some 25+ years later (at an event) and reminded her of this story while I had a good chuckle. She was talking about how her fiancee once dumped her, so I thought I would *cheer her up*.

To me, it’s not about whether it’s justified. Sure the fact that women take pleasure in a man’s suffering is a reason/excuse to take pleasure in a woman’s suffering. Turn-about is fair play and all that.

I am all for letting people deal with the consequences of there actions. It’s just that to me, I’d rather see a woman have a ‘come to Jesus’ moment and accepts responsibility for her actions (not the actions of all women), then see a woman hit the wall and continue to live in denial.
