Is Your Girlfriend or Wife a Professional Victim?

I came across a great article posted by shrink4men (link below).

“You may be involved with a woman who is a professional victim. Don’t be fooled, she is no victim. Victim-hood is a powerful role. In fact, women who play the victim are often the aggressor in relationships. They play the “victim” to manipulate and control others by holding you emotionally hostage.”

The article made 3 good points:
1. It’s impossible to have a loving relationship of equals with a professional victim
2. You can’t have a healthy and happy relationship with someone who holds you hostage and controls you through guilt, emotional blackmail, and blame
3. If you’re involved with one of these women, I encourage you to reconsider the relationship. When I come across them in life, I try to avoid them altogether or, at the very least, minimize contact. It’s really the only way to deal with them.

Shrink for Men is one of the best resources on the net for problem exes. I lost track of how many stories or advice columns looked identical to things I went through. Can’t really think of a time that the content wasn’t top notch.

And Yes I had a relationship with a Professional victim. The Emotional Blackmail component cannot be overemphasized. They are relentless and are always looking to exploit your kind nature. There is no boundary to what they will do to you so that they feel in control.

As several have said on this subject before, be on the lookout for drama early on with any woman you meet. Don’t ignore your gut feeling. If she is quality do you really think she would even be single? There is a reason (probably multiple) she is single and you just have to figure out why.

Agreed, but one doesn’t even have to figure out why…it will be painfully revealed to you whether you wanted it to be or not.
