Would you consider Ralph Kramden from The Honeymooners a MGTOW type considering he never listens to his wife, they’re always arguing, he prefers to go bowling or shoot pool with Norton? I consider the Jackie Gleason character MGTOW, but is he really?

He was a married guy,but at least he still went bowling with his buddy.I was thinking the other day..George Baily wanted
to be a Mgtow but they woulnt let him. He caved under the pressure.Donna Reeds “Mary” got to him.Almost killed him.

Ralph had a strong independent streak, to be sure. However, one of the running gags of the show was that Alice always got her way in the end.
Thus, I’m going with Almost-MGHOW, but only as far as the conventions of the 1950s, and the necessities of producing a funny script allowed.

“To the Moon, Alice! To the Moon!” (She stares him down: He ain’t gonna hit her, and they both know it.)

Wifey always won, so hubby was pussy whipped whether he admitted it or not.

All that said, that show’s DVDs have a permanent place in my affections. I sincerely believe that show could not be aired in today’s political climate, unless it was on some obscure cable channel.

Edit: Search YouTube for “The Honeymooners” and you will discover a treasure trove of full episodes. Great stuff!

Edit 2: The Kramdens and the family in Ray Donovan have something in common. They both come from a culture where divorce did not happen. Hubby and wife put up with each other, and their quirks and foibles (like hubby banging every cute chickie who comes along) until death did them part. That was not such a bad way to go through life.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
