I have a good female friend. If I get the first door for her she gets the second for me, and vice versa. We are a team at work, and last night she helped red pill an 18 year old co-worker recently dumped by a single mommy.

Where did she get the red pills? This guy. It’s not betrayal to let women know what we know here. Knowledge is useless without application, and she would gladly admit that she’s too emotional to use any of the wheelbarrow of red pills I’ve freely discussed with her. She absolutely gets it though, when dealing with reasons why marriage or even relationships are useless to men.

The young guy we were co-counseling may be messed up for life.

Chivalry is a warrior’s code about the strong protecting the weak extended fairly recently (17th/18th centuries) to cover the actions of “gentlemen” towards ladies as most noblemen gave up going into battle and let the peasants get killed instead.

Gentlemen would be chivalrous but since there aren’t any ladies around anymore, only slags, and Satan will be skating into work before feminists admit they are weaker, I think it can be concluded that chivalry, in the later meaning, is dead because there are no worthwhile recipients.

Chivalry was a code of conduct of noblemen of the past, mostly dealing with interacting among themselves and with public. Dealing with females was just a small subsection of chivalry code, not the main thing as it’s portrayed now – now it means: kissing woman’s ass for no reason.

Anyway to answer the question: Romulus is correct. Chivalry is not dead it has been withdrawn from women because they are unworthy of it.

As another poster said Chivalry has little to do with women. It was about how Knights (Wealthy Christian men) treated other Knights in battle. If Knights went up against a non Christian enemy chivalry would be thrown to the wayside. At the Battle of Agincourt the English Knights refused to kill French prisoners so the Archers (who were middle class tradesman) butchered them instead. The English Knights didn’t lift a finger to try and stop their French counterparts from being killed in this manner.

Like just about anything it is hypocritical and open to interpretation.

I stopped doing things for women when I noticed I got more looks of annoyance than thank you’s.

Besides, empowered, strong, independent women should be able to work out how to use a door handle.

I learned a useful strategy from Keymaster here. When a woman brings up the subject of chivalry, I tell her, “You can have chivalry, or equality, but NOT BOTH, and you can only choose ONCE. Pulling out your chair, opening your door and buying your dinner are chivalrous acts based on the premise that you are less mentally and physically capable of doing these things for yourself than I am, so I do them for both of us. Equality is based on the premise that anything I can do, a woman can do just as well. So, make a decision. What’s it gonna be?”.

I have made this offer to a variety of different women. Young, old, married, single, educated or not…

I have never once gotten a straight answer.

Most of the young ones will immediately say “Equality!” as they have been trained to by the hive. So, I ask them if they are registered for the military draft. Usually, I have to explain to them what that is, and that every man they know over the age of 18 has already registered in order to comply with federal law. Then, the stuttering starts…

Some of the old ones will choose “Chivalry”. I ask them if they think we should ever have a woman president. They will often say “Of course!”, before realizing the trap. When I explain that chivalry was based on the premise that women are less capable, first they get irritated at that idea, and the stuttering starts…

To answer the original question: chivalry may not be completely dead yet, but it damn well should be. I’ve been listening to women bitch and moan about how equal they are for decades now. I still don’t see them stepping up and paying for their own dinner, or registering for combat to defend all those rights they think they deserve.

The reality is that they want to have their choice of both, and will switch back and forth minute to minute depending on which is to their advantage at any given moment. They are little different from children this way, and should be taken about as seriously as children.

From the old French word for knighthood, “chevalerie”, the art of being a chevalier (a knight or horseman).
This was originally a system by which mounted warriors were to act, but while service to their people is touched upon the general goal of medieval knights was not saving many a damsel in distress, devotion to God, or enforcing justice; most knights defined chivalry as warfare and obtaining fame and fortune in the name of their king(s) and without any display of cowardice in battle. In a sense, it’s hardly different from joining the military for the benefits that it offers, including the money that pours in from the business of war. Chivalry was basically a boy’s culture: fighting other men, riding horses, power and profit and the ability to exploit that power.
The modern notion of chivalry as courtesy to women has tenuous links to chivalry as it was originally conceived. Perhaps courtly love (coined in 1883 to describe the worship of a married noblewoman by a lowly troubadour or knight and his vow to do great deeds in her honor) influenced this notion, but courtly love is, for all intents and purposes, adultery (very dangerous to both participants) and to what extent that courtly love was ever practiced remains unknown.
Chivalry, for the most part, was the opposite of the Geneva Convention; it was all about making a profit on war. The image of an honorable knight saving a fair maiden from a dragon is not much more than sheer fantasy, and most of it seems to stem from the Victorian era; the Victorians, in the midst of the Industrial Revolution, looked at the Middle Ages through rose colored glasses as an idyllic place of pre-industrial innocence, projecting their own ideals of men and women onto the knight and the damsel in distress. A real knight in shining armor was actually more like a trained assassin and the local rapist rolled into one and the damsel in distress, a helpless shrinking violet, never really existed.

Chivalry
Something women complain is dead even though it cannot logically exist in an equal society, which is something women wanted. It’s one or the other.

Jesse lamented about the death of chivalry while she lambasted the days when men oppressed women which was a time when chivalry was common. Makes perfect sense.

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. They were hoping it was just in a comma but would rise up again when they snapped their fingers.

But it died. Killed by those it was originally used to serve.
