Yeah what’s up with that? All the girls I know always swoon when Hugh jackmen doesn’t have a shirt on, but you never hear about men complaining about being objectified by women.

Let us go over this. Riri Williams is the embodiment of a Mary Sue.

Other characters such as Laura Kinney becoming Wolverine and Jane Foster become Thor have at least some background material for the change in roles. Laura had been groomed for years in the comic storylines to take over for Logan as Wolverine. There was no surprise.

When is comes to Jane Foster being a Thor, the idea for her to be Thor has been around since a What If comic issue in 1978. And Jane has been an interesting take on Thor. The main problem is the writers trolled the readers for the first eight issues of the “female Thor”.

I will give points for Marvel some of the things they have done with Jane Thor has been interesting. In a Dr Strange comic issue where Jane Thor showed up Jane Thor showed off her medical skills as a doctor to show what having super-physical abilities and the medical know-how can accomplish. It was a very cool scene.

And yes. I bought that comic issue.

Riri Williams has no background material. She is introduced as a teenage genius whom Tony Stark decides to hand over control his technology and company too. This is completely out of character for Tony because he rarely shares his technology and there is always strings attached. The only way that storyline will be salvaged is if it comes out that Riri is one of Tony’s bastard children.

And Marvel refuses to change the comic title from Ironman to Ironheart. That is false advertising.

Well there is Thor from the Earth X comics series. It is a good series that covered a lot of material, with many of the ideas being used in the main comic franchise.

That being said, I would not joke about that with these characters. Norse Mythology has a lot of mess up sex changing stuff. Do not look up where Odin’s eight-legged horse came from. You do not want to know.

Speaking of that, Loki in the Marvel Comics is shown to be gender-fluid, shapeshifting from male to female and back to male at will. Ironically this is more in line with Norse Mythology of Loki. In Norse Mythology Loki was a shapeshifting trickster that liked to play both sides of the field.

If Marvel comics want to make gender-shifting characters, if they can point to source material for those characters, like Loki, there should not be a problem, because it is more in line with the source material.
